HIGH END 2020 In Munich Has Been Cancelled

HIGH END 2020 In Munich Has Been Cancelled
We just received the following brief news from the Society:
"The HIGH END 2020, planned for May 14th to 17th, has been cancelled due to the current intensified development regarding the spread of the novel coronavirus. We will keep you in the loop."

Updated 02/28 @ 1pm EST USA (18:00 UTC)
The HIGH END 2020 trade show, planned for May 14 to 17, has been cancelled due to the current worsening trend with respect to the spread of the novel coronavirus. This decision was reached by the HIGH END SOCIETY Service GmbH upon consideration of all criteria in close cooperation with the Board of the HIGH END SOCIETY e.V.

Given that in addition to the countries affected in Asia, infections in Italy have rapidly increased within a few days, it is unclear how the virus will continue to spread in Europe. As organisers of an international trade show, we consider it our responsibility, on the one hand, to safeguard the health of all stakeholders, and on the other hand, to work towards averting possible economic losses of the exhibitors.

Since the rapid spread of the virus in China in mid-January, we have been weighing the possible consequences for the exhibition planned in May. The situation was re-assessed each day by monitoring not only the global spread of the coronavirus but also the international trade show and exhibition scene. In addition to the special situation for Chinese exhibitors, over the past few weeks, we have increasingly received inquiries from other companies as to whether the strained situation would have an impact on the HIGH END 2020.

A total of 500 trade visitors from 40 countries had registered for the HIGH END 2020 trade show. You will be informed on the latest news concerning the cancellation. Trade visitors and end users who have already purchased a ticket for the HIGH END 2020 will naturally receive a refund.

Dear Exhibitor,

Due to the current worsening trend with respect to the spread of the coronavirus, upon consideration of all criteria, we have decided to cancel the HIGH END 2020 trade show as a precautionary measure. This decision was reached in close cooperation with the Board of the HIGH END SOCIETY e.V.

We naturally regret having to take this step. We are convinced, however, that the early cancellation will also assist you in your planning and avert additional uncertainties. For several weeks now, we have been weighing the possible consequences for our international trade show in May, and we had to re-assess the situation on a day-by-day basis. We have also increasingly received inquiries from our exhibitors as to whether the strained situation in connection with the coronavirus would have an impact on the HIGH END 2020 trade show.

Given that in addition to the countries affected in Asia, infections in Italy have rapidly increased within a few days, it is unclear how the virus will continue to spread in Europe. As organisers of an international trade show, we consider it our responsibility to act in a timely manner. On the one hand, with this move we seek to safeguard the health of all stakeholders and, on the other hand, to work towards averting possible economic losses of the exhibitors.

At the moment, we are weighing a possibility of offering an alternative event at the MOC Event Centre in Munich, provided there is sufficient demand. We will send you detailed information about this opportunity in the near future.

In order for you not to incur any financial hardships, we would gladly meet you halfway and offer an attractive opportunity of crediting any payments you have already made:

Upon request, your deposit will be credited to your order for stand areas / stands at the HIGH END 2021 trade show. As compensation, we will extend to you a discount in the amount of 5 percent for payment of the remainder by the due date in 2021. The prices for all stand areas and rooms will not be increased in the coming year.

In the event that you do not wish to take advantage of this offer, kindly inform us no later than March 13, 2020. In that case, you will receive a refund for any payments made. We kindly ask for your understanding for a longer processing time.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to give us a call.

Best regards,
Stefan Dreischärf
Managing Director

HIGH END 2020 Cancelled Due to Spread of Coronavirus

Update 4/27: HIGH END 2020 Press Release Number 3
Show Cancelled Due To Spread Of Coronavirus
This press release just in: The HIGH END 2020 trade show, planned for May 14 to 17, 2020 at Munich's MOC exhibition grounds, has been cancelled due to the current worsening trend with respect to the spread of the novel coronavirus.

"That is why as organisers of an international trade show, we consider it our responsibility to act in a timely manner", explains Stefan Dreischärf, Managing Director of HIGH END SOCIETY Service GmbH. On the one hand, this move seeks to safeguard the health of all stakeholders and, on the other hand, to work towards averting possible economic losses of the exhibitors.

"We naturally regret having to take this step," says Dreischärf. "But we take our duty of care towards our exhibitors, visitors and employees very seriously." Since the rapid spread of the virus in China in mid-January, the organiser of the world's largest hi-fi trade show has been weighing the possible consequences for the exhibition planned in May. Each day, the situation was re-assessed by monitoring not only the global spread of the coronavirus but also the international trade show and exhibition scene. At the beginning of February, HIGH END SOCIETY Service GmbH already offered Chinese exhibitors options for withdrawing from their participation in this year’s hi-fi show. Over the past few weeks, the organiser increasingly received inquiries from other companies as to whether the strained situation would have an impact on the HIGH END 2020.

Some 500 trade visitors from 40 countries had registered for the HIGH END 2020, which as an internationally renowned audio trade show has been an unparalleled sounding board for first-rate sound reproduction for four decades. You will be informed on the latest news concerning the cancellation. Trade visitors and end users who have already purchased a ticket for the HIGH END 2020 will naturally receive a refund.
