Taiwan International Hi-End Audio Show 2009
Taiwan International Hi-End Audio Show 2009

Coverage By Wong Kok Chieat

The external crossover used by the Pro-1 monitors.

NeoTech, the premier cable manufacturer of Taiwan, showcasing their ranges of cables. If I am not wrong, NeoTech was the only cable manufacturer outside of Japan qualified to make its own UPOCC single crystal copper and silver cables.

NeoTech owned a few US patents for their cable designs.

Some Taiwan patents owned by NeoTech for their cable designs.

NeoTech showcasing the cross section and build quality of their meticulously designed cables.

Adam Tensor series floorstanders with Accuphase equipments.

AVID Acutus Gold Reference turntable.

Innersound Kaya Reference electrostatic loudspeakers. As far as I know, Innersound ceased operation in 2008 and some of their previous products were now supported by Sanders Sound Systems.

Esoteric UX-3 audio video player and Innersound amplifications, it seemed none of these were current products.

After listening to the TAD Reference One flagship floorstanders, I fell totally in love with TAD loudspeakers. The TAD Compact Reference One flagship bookshelves made their debut in the Taiwan show, driven by Krell monoblocks.

TAD Compact Reference One bookshelf loudspeakers.

PS Audio PerfectWave Transport and PerfectWave DAC, GamuT El Superiores S5 floorstanders and El Superiores S3 bookshelves, GamuT D3i dual mono pre amplifier and M250i monoblocks completed the setup for this room.

Revel Studio 2 floorstanders driven by Mark Levinson No.436 monoblocks and No.532 dual mono power amplifier. Digital source was No.512 SACD player, feeding the No.326S pre amplifier.

Trigon's latest flagship power amplifiers driving AE loudspeakers.

Trigon Monolog monoblocks churning out 400 watts of power. A year after seeing the static display in last year's Hong Kong audio show, I finally got to hear them sing!

The Trigon Dialog flagship pre amplifier was still in wait. Seen here was only the TRV-100A pre amplifier.

Drinks and snacks provided, eye candy, too! This mini booth was provided by a well known Taiwanese one-stop online audio forum. I was glad to have met the owner himself, Mr. Leo Yeh, to share our mutual passion in everything audio!

Consequence Ultimate Edition special model flagship floorstanders from Dynaudio, driven by Halcro dm88 monoblocks and dm10 pre amplifier amplifications. Source was Audio Research Reference CD7, the first player to feature the Reference name from ARC.

Rockport Technologies Ankaa floorstanders with VTL amplifications and emmLabs separate digital source.
