  Southwest Audio Fest returns to Dallas, Texas, July 23rd through 25th, presenting three concentrated days of high-end audio demonstrations, seminars, and industry networking. Enjoy the Music.com notes that the 2026 schedule shifts the festival to Thursday–Saturday, with new Thursday hours set for 2pm to 8pm, plus Friday–Saturday running 10am to 6pm, to maximize attendance and create fuller demo schedules. The show's home is the Sheraton Convention Center in downtown Dallas, chosen for its large demo rooms and proximity to the Arts and Historic districts, giving attendees easy access to dining and cultural attractions. Exhibitors will include major manufacturers, boutique builders, dealers, and independent designers presenting loudspeakers of many shapes and sizes, powerful amplifiers, turntables, digital front ends, and room treatment solutions in real listening environments.

The pre-show opened with a palpable sense of anticipation as press, dealers, and distributors filtered through registration and into the hotel's exhibit corridors. Registration and press check-in ran smoothly, as Enjoy the Music.com's signature orange lanyards and seminar schedules are in hand, while staff set up demo rooms and room acoustic devices for optimal sound. Some exhibitors room technicians are still making last-minute cable and loudspeaker placements. Rooms are set to showcased an impressive range of luxurious loudspeakers, boutique vacuum tube amplifiers, and high-end turntables and digital front end setups. Each may be staged on carpets and specialized equipment risers and racks. The variety of audiophile gear this weekend at the SWAF 2026 is making for a rich visual palette — glossy lacquer, machined aluminum, wood veneers, and warm tube am ps, filaments mix with the lasted solid-state amps, electrostatic and horn loudspeaker designs. It seems like a short time ago, Gary and Lou were launching a new high-end audio show in Big Dallas. Now, two years later, the Southwest Audio Fest (SWAF) has made its way downtown. This year's accommodations are at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel. This year has been shifted from Thursday to Saturday. That meant I had to hit the ground running to start taking it all in. I was able to visit all the rooms except the ballrooms on the second floor. I plan on visiting those first tomorrow. I saw lots of great gear! Here are some early impressions with  pics to pique your interest. The energy throughout the hotel at SWAF 2026 was unmistakable, with attendees buzzing about new product launches and long-awaited demos. Exhibitors seemed especially enthusiastic this year, eager to show off their latest designs and reconnect with both familiar and new faces. Even in the early hours of the show, several rooms were already quite busy with listeners settling in for extended sessions.

Friday, day two at the Southwest Audio Fest 2026, brought a noticeable shift in energy as attendees settled into the rhythm of the show and the larger rooms began drawing steady crowds. With the big exhibit rooms on the second and fourth floors fully activated, today felt expansive—full of ambitious system setups, bold design choices, and exhibitors eager to demonstrate what their gear could really do. The mood was equal parts curiosity and excitement, with listeners moving from room to room comparing sonic signatures, discussing new technologies, and reconnecting with familiar faces from past shows. As the halls grew busier, it became clear that Friday had become the unofficial "deep-listening" day, where visitors took their time exploring the more elaborate systems on display. Throughout the Dallas hotel, Friday also revealed the show's growing diversity in both presentation styles and audio philosophies.

Southwest Audio Fest 2026 took place at a wonderful new venue, the Sheraton Dallas Hotel in the downtown area of one of the biggest cities in Texas and the U.S. Show organizers Lou Hinkley and Gary Gill, of the Pacific Audio Fest and the Capital Audio Fest respectively, team up on this event by meeting midway between both events, which is now in its third year. This new venue, Gary says, is perfect for an audio show. Larger ballroom-sized venues are on the second floor where the show's registration desk was located. And there are eight larger rooms found on the fourth floor. Most rooms seemed acoustically better than one might find in the typical hotel room. One of the ballroom venues on floor 2 was the show's Marketplace area, which is a popular feature of SWAF. In addition, floor 2 features a nicely set-up seminar theater away from the noisy areas for several talks given by some of the show's audio celebrities.
