From The Editor... CEA Versus CTA
Editorial By Andrija Curkovic

HiFi Media Issue 97 January / March 2016  Changes in consumer interest in new technologies, which have shifted from the usual notions of audio / video devices, prompted even the organizers of the largest technology fair in the world - CES (Las Vegas, USA) on a process of transformation, which included a change of their name.

American Association of Manufacturers of Consumer Electronics, also known as CEA (Consumer Electronics Association), is the owner and organizer of CES. Formed back in 1924 as an association of radio producers (Radio Manufacturers Association), today they reached the status of leading global association of more than 2,200 technology companies.

The eruption of small and start-up companies, now making up 80% of their membership, opened up new areas of activity and improved our way of life, surrounded by advanced technology with brilliant new technologies, applications and product in a short period of time.

In that light, the CEA (Consumer Electronics Association) has decided to change its name to CTA (Consumer Technology Association) in order to be up with the times and to emphasize their commitment to the new, to what is yet to come, and is associated with the most advanced technologies.

Standing in the shoes of an active collaborator of this year's CES, as part of their project CES Innovations Awards, the aforementioned transformation in the title seems more than logical to me, because it unites all interesting and progressive that is happening in the industry. I hope that these guidelines of transformation of consumer electronics will be experienced in both our living and working environment during year 2016, as well as in the framework of Zagreb's consumer electronics show "Zagreb AV Show."

In the meantime, we suggest you take the time to relax with our selection of reviews of new AV products, as well as reading music and film sections, for which we are extremely proud of. Finally, on behalf of the entire editorial board and myself, we wish you merry Christmas and happy and successful 2016.
