From The Editor...
Editorial By Andrija Curkovic
Just a few weeks separate us from Croatian joining the European Union. For many of our citizens this act will be a long-standing dream, while another might be less euphoric. Regardless of the diversity of feelings, we will definitely attend the historic event.
If we step back from daily politics and all the connotations that it brings to a common sense, what does this membership bring to the consumers of the consumer electronics?
The most obvious benefit will be easy access and the ability to purchase all products without customs barriers and the increasing competitiveness of the bid price for a particular product. An additional benefit is the availability of products that have not had their representatives in Croatia and were less available. For many, this will be a real
In recent months, there was apparent stagnation in retail due to the fact that customers have decided to wait for the opening of borders and sought to buy the product at favorable terms. We understand that logic, but it is not worth much for all categories of consumer electronics products. If you look at the "premium" products, it often happens that there is a better price in our country than in the rest of Europe. This especially applies to the segment of the Hi-Fi and high-end. We hope that our distributors are well prepared for the new situation on the market and to retain the loyalty of local customers.
We can only add that, besides the price, you have to be sure to check what kind of aftermarket support from the vendors you may enjoy. In fact, practice has shown that that is more important thing than the discount that you made, and with that, you can “save” a lot of your nerves later. In addition, we wish you a good "hunting"!
Briefly about the main topics in this issue of the magazine. From the published tests, we would certainly highlight Dali Epicon 6 speakers and a new Samsung LED TV, which proved as excellent products in their categories. In addition to a large number of music and movie reviews, there is an interesting David Bowie story about his "Berlin phase," an analysis of the phenomenon of the folk music in today's global arena as well as talking with top jazz musician Christian McBride. We do not stop here with interesting conversations, but we publish thoughts of the President of Panasonic in Europe, Mr. Laurent Abadie, managing director of Toshiba for our region, Mr. Adrian Vazdar and finally discover the real reasons for the great love of music of Mr. Emil
I wish you a pleasant reading before the next issue of the magazine and I want to point out the dates 18th to 20th October 2013., when 19 "Zagreb Audio Video Show" at the Sheraton Hotel, Zagreb is going to be held.
