ELAC Speakers Designed By Andrew Jones

  ELAC was at T.H.E. Show Newport 2015 with their new lineup designed by the legendary Andrew Jones! ELAC's new and very affordable speakers are the first to be designed by ELAC America's new Vice President of Engineering Andrew Jones and consists of two bookshelf speakers (B5 & B6), one floorstanding speaker (F5), one center speaker (C5), one Atmos Add-on speaker (A4), and three powered subwoofers (S10, S10EQ and S12EQ). Phew, looks like Andrew has been a very busy man.

How affordable you ask. Here's the breakdown in model and pricing:

This entire line by ELAC utilizes custom designed drivers engineered for maximum performance and musicality. The woofers employ aramid fiber cones for their superior strength to weight ratio to produce smoother and extended frequency response. ELAC, together with Andrew Jones, also developed a tweeter and waveguide with deep spheroid profile. Benefits of this design include improved directivity control plus it shields the tweeter wavefront from cabinet diffraction, which case time-smearing distortion of the output.

Of course the subwoofer has controls to better integrate within your existing system/room. ELAC's S10EQ and the S12EQ incorporate the company's advanced DSP system for automatic calibration of the subwoofer to whatever environment it is placed within. There is a special SUB Control App for smartphones as traditional analog controls such as level and crossover have been replaced by a Bluetooth 4.0 LE connection.

Upon hearing their system at T.H.E. Show Newport 2015 i can not only heartily recommend these speakers, they are in my humble opinion the winners of my Best Of T.H.E. Show Newport 2015. Whilst it is extremely rare that such an award is ever given by Yours Truly, there is little doubt that the new ELAC speakers designed by Andrew Jones will be receiving many more awards in the coming months. Let me be perfectly clear here, for the money there is no doubt the new ELAC line designed by Andrew Jones have earned Enjoy the Music.com's most prestigious Best Sound At Show Award. From the small monitors to the floorstander and powered subwoofers, I can think of no better loudspeaker product line for the money that comes close to the price-performance of these speakers at T.H.E. Show Newport 2015.
