T.H.E. Lone Star Audio Fest 2026 Show Report
PureArtFi The LS-6 Large Monitors are a step up from the FF-1 Mini-Monitors. They have a forward-firing Purifi 6.5" woofer and dual passive radiators in the back. The tweeter is a horn-waveguide-loaded planar ribbon. As you can see from the pics, these speakers are a work of art.
Driving the LS-6 Large Monitors was a Miller Audio Dyna 70, and the front end consisted of an SOtM sMS-200ultra network player, an SOtM tX-USBultra DDC, and an SOtM sPS-500 power supply.
The sound coming from this system was smooth as silk, with vibrant textures. I was surprised that such a great sound could be produced in such a tight space. If Enjoy the Music.com was giving an award during this event, the Blue Note Award would go to the PureArtFi room.
Ulleam Audio
The first item to make me drool was a restored Garrard 401 turntable with a gorgeous, solid wood plinth. Mike's plinths are works of art.
The speakers being used were Audio Crafter's Guild Series 70 with papyrus drivers.
This system was also very smooth and relaxed, and invited you to sit and stay a while.
Pi Speakers
An Audio Note Kit-1 was providing the amplification. The audio source was an OPPO UDP-203 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Player.
This was incredibly clear and dynamic with plenty of bass.
