Lone Star Audio Fest 2025: The Pulse Of High-Fidelity
Sound Sanctuary, an Austin high-end audio shop, had a nice collection of gear in the Lantana Ballroom. It included a Dan D'Agostino Master Momentum S250 MxV stereo amp $50,000, Momentum C2 ($55,000) preamp, Transparent XL cabling, a HRS ERX double-wide rack, a Grimm MU1 streamer ($12,000), and silver-colored Wilson Sabrina X loudspeakers ($23,000). A very special Rossini APEX DAC ($32,800), a DCS Lina clock ($8,150), an Audio Research REF Phono 3SE ($22,500), plus Dr. Feickert Woodpecker with EMT tonearm ($11,000) round out this stereo sound system.
There was also a My Sonic Labs Hyper Eminent EX MC cartridge. ($5495), a Luxman L-505 Z integrated amplifier ($5,995), a PD-151 Mk 2 Luxman Turntable ($6,490), a LNC-3 MC Luxman Cartridge ($2,695), a Lina DAC ($14,400), and Wilson Sasha V loudspeakers ($53,100). This was the first time I heard D'Agostino electronics and Wilson speakers, and they lived up to my expectations.
Innovo Audio Designs was playing their very innovative Luxe T1 speakers ($34,000) in the Verbena Ballroom. They weren't playing when I was in the room, but they looked amazing.
Origin HiFi, also based out of Austin, had a fantastic collection of McIntosh, Naim, REL, Nordost, Dynaudio, Gryphon Audio, Steinway Lingdorf, Dali, and Lyngdorf equipment in the Longhorn Ballroom.
