Piraeus Audio

  Piraeus Audio self-contained Athena loudspeakers ($23,500) handles 192kHz/24-bit audio digitally and has an internal active crossover. Total amplification is 750 watts per channel. This system employs 40-bit fixed point processing and offers two to optical TosLink slink, S/PDIF and AES/EBU digital inputs.

Piraeus Audio's Athena loudspeaker is a three-way sealed box design with a 0.75" silk done tweeter, 5" cone midrange and 10" woofer. Frequency response is from 25Hz to 24kHz (+/-3dB). A special 16th order, 96db/octave digital crossover handles the complex signal and outside finishes include Bubinga, Walnut, Mappa Burl, Silver Metallic, Piano Gloss Black, and Piano Gloss White (custom color or wood veneer are available too). By the way, there is an included remote for volume, phase and mute function. The sound was extremely transparent, quick and i have to say again... it sounded extreme clean.
