Audio Reference Technology, Pass Labs And Tannoy

  A.R.T. (Audio Reference Technology) had an incredible system with Pass Labs and Tannoy speakers. Sure i could go on about the individual bits of gear yet here's the spoilers right off the bat.... Most reviewers like to make you wait for their awards. Not me, as i visited this room quite a few times and it gets my overall Best Sound At CAS 2015 Award. The music sounded glorious! Very clean, fast, focused and excellent transparency. Perhaps the best i have ever heard these big Tannoy speakers, and I've heard them many times at shows around the world.

This also proves that at shows you might not be hearing the full potential of any product, except perhaps personal audio devices, as there are many variables such as system synergy, room integration, room acoustics, cabling choices, etc. Perhaps judging home audio at shows is a fools game surrounded by proverbial landmines at every turn? Whatever the case may be, this is the best i've ever hear these Tannoy large floorstanders and am sure every piece of gear from Pass Labs amplification to the A.R.T tweaks and cables contributed to the 'whole'. Bravo A.R.T. and congratulations on earning the overall Best Sound At CAS 2015.

By the way, it was also said having a piano within the room helped to improve the sound within the room. Perhaps it is some resonance or other situation that gave this exhibitor an advantage. Whatever the reason, my ears felt this room was my fave sound during CAS 2015.
