Audio Expo North America (AXPONA) 2025 Show Report By Chuck Bruce

  Saturday here at AXPONA 2025 promises to be exhilarating, especially considering the great gear I heard on Friday. Today was an exciting day for music lovers and audiophile enthusiasts. It was time for me to visit more exhibit rooms, see more magnificent high-end audio equipment, and experience cutting-edge audio setups from top brands from around the world. During the day were a variety of seminars and ‘Master Classes' to help inform and educate newbies and seasoned professionals alike. While walking the hallways it is always a joy to meet longtime friends. The many meaningful friendships created over the years are one of the many joys of this hobby of ours. Tonight's live music concert at 8 PM features headliner and renowned jazz artist Patricia Barber.

Avantgarde Acoustics And Phasemation
Any dedicated audiophile show goer worth his or her ears should attend the annual Avantgarde Acoustic hornspeaker presentation. In this case, the super-efficient Mezzo G3 (107dB/W/m) horn speakers - their newest model ($103,800), this pair were powered by a set of paralleled 300B SE triodes from Phasemation's model MA 2000. It produces 10 Watts of power in Class A, and sounded uncolored, dynamic, and with expansive power ($49,000 per pair).

I was thoroughly engaged by the vinyl LP playing via a Perpetumm Edner Turntable model 7070 MK11 with Ortofon cartridge ($13,000). The vinyl LP here at AXPONA 2025 was simply superb, and engaging to no end. An impressive Wadax Player ($40,000) and MSB Cascade ($135,000) unit effectively covered the digital side of the musical pleasures.

Whether Beethoven, Brubeck, or Dire Straits, It's as real as it gets in this presentation. I sit a spell, just for awhile, and enjoy the music. Thank you Angie of American Sound of Canada distribution!

Next Level HIFi / Audio Group Of Denmark
The Audio Group Denmark / Next Level HiFi was bringing it to their AXPONA 2025 exhibition room “like live” via their Børresen loudspeaker line, Aavik solid-state electronics, and high-performance audio accessories. Especially notable for their finely crafted stand-mounted two-way loudspeakers with in-house manufactured drivers (including ribbon tweeters!).

Here at Audio Expo North America, it is the Børrensen model T1 SSE ($55,000) including luxuriously styled stands. This rich, accurate, like-live, dynamic presentation was supported by a set of electronics featuring the 300 Wpc Class D Aavik I-288 stereo integrated amplifier ($25,000) and the model S-580 Streamer / DAC delivered the musical goods ($25,000).

Cable loom was by Ansuz. Indeed, Audio Group Denmark / Next Level HiFi achieved one of the best musical presentations at the AXPONA 2025 show.
