AXPONA Show Report By Rick Becker

1604 PureAudioProject
Ze'ev Schlik had a fine-sounding rig with a new two-way Duet15 Horn1 open
baffle speaker with a compression horn on top, starting at $7,350. As in
recent shows, the rig was wired with Silversmith Audio cables — the
ribbon speaker cable and their new interconnects. Note the Silversmith 3-D
printed cable risers. A Luminous Audio Technologies Axiom II Walker
passive line stage caught my eye, which undoubtedly helped with the
transparency of this rig. A Pass Labs First Watt SIT 4 amplifier drove
the speakers. An Aurender streamer provided the source.

This LAiV Harmony DAC ($2700) caught my eye with its
handsome design. First time I've seen it. LAiV was founded in 2023 in
Singapore, and from what I see in the fit and finish of this small DAC, you
will be hearing a lot more about them in the future. It features a FEMTO
clock, I2S synchronization, RCA and XLR outputs, and a remote control.
1603 SPL
This room was not yet open, as I recall, but I saw SPL
products elsewhere at the show, which I will highlight.

1607 Next Level HiFI, Audio Group Denmark
Ansuz,
Aavik, Borresen, And Axxess
Next Level HiFi is a retailer in Wayne, IL, and the sole US
source for Ansuz, Borresen, and Axxess. They presented three rooms in a row
here with "Good", "Better", and "Best" rigs with
stand-mounted monitors from Audio Group Denmark. This first one was the "Good."

1608 Next Level HiFi And Audio Group Denmark
The second room had the "Better" rig from Audio Group
Denmark.

1615 Next Level HiFi And Audio Group Denmark
The third room had the "Best" of the three rigs
featuring this gorgeous-looking (and sounding) monitor. Audio Group Denmark
also had their own space in the large Epiphany Room on the 2nd Floor, which I'll get
to....
