Classic Audio Reproductions' 50th Anniversary Hartsfield ($30,000) give homage to legendary corner horn loudspeaker design. An outboard crossover allows for separate adjustment of both upper and middle frequencies.
For those who belong to the "bigger is better" camp, (said with tongue in cheek) not that they are making up for other shortcomings, is Cabasse's new Saturn 55 active subwoofer. With a 21-inch driver, this unit produces frequencies down to 20Hz.
Huff Loudspeaker Company's model Huff 5 ($7,000) includes a pair of monitors and a 10-inch long-throw woofer. The monitors have a 2-inch ribbon tweeter and 5.25-inch ceramic cone midrange/midbass driver.
Art Audio's new Carissa ($4,000) is an 845 stereo amplifier with gorgeous reflective tubes. Weighing in at a hefty 70 lbs., this 16-watt per channel stereo unit can include an optional attenuator, thereby eliminating the need for an additional line stage.
In the OS Services room they had the North American launch of the Revolver wood veneer loudspeakers. Also new was the made in Italy Nightingale ATS 90 monoblock "Class A" tube amplifiers ($12,995 per pair). Also seen here (far left) is the Cadence Arista hybrid electrostatic loudspeaker ($5,495). In the middle are the Revolver R33 monitor ($995 per pair) and R45
floorstanding loudspeaker in lighter wood ($1,595 per pair).
The all-new four hard drive MediaQuest Pro model Media Control system
operating on a Windows operating system can be a house-wide server and
supports DVD, CD, MP3, WMA, etc. It can also support virtually an unlimited number of zones, stereo built-in, through surround sound is supported with an external decoder. Via power over Ethernet, external touch panels for control only need a single cable.
