TAVES Consumer Electronics Show 2014 Show Report (Toronto Audio Video Entertainment Show)
Sonos, my current fave homewide audio
distribution system, had many of their wireless products here at the TAVES
2014 show. My only gripe, too bad Sonos will never do 24/192 or DSD. Might be
time to seek out another brand for a new homewide audio distribution system.
Anyone reading this have any suggestions?
Canada Computers had an interesting driving
simulator that had a bit of a clumsy steering wheel force-feedback system.
Love the whole 'big three screen sim' thing! And for computer junkies like me,
check out the cooling system on this badboy!.
Nvidia Shield
Yamaha's room here at the TAVES 2014 show had the Modus player
piano plus the Yamaha MCR-B142 ($450) colourful desktop audio system Their
just-launched Natural Sound AS-801 and AS-501 ($999 and $699 respectively)
were also here.
Bryston, a company whose products i have
enjoyed for decades, had their Model T speakers with BDP-2 digital player, BDA-2 DAC, BP-26
preamp, and 7B-SST2 monoblocks. Bryston makes one of the most
solid, reliable full system products in the industry and their incredible 20
year warranty backs this claim.
Since the past, in many ways, can dictate the
future... i truly loved seeing the display by the Ontario Vintage Radio
Association. Bravo gents!
