The Sound Of The Valve 2013 Milan Show Report

  Faber Cables, a well known Italian brand of cables and accessories for the high-end market, presented a new line of Power Cords under the label Faber Power. They also have two new Power Distributors, with one carved out from a solid block of aluminum with a new design with no visible screws, four or six Oyaide receptacles, solid steel damped feet and a new inner antistatic treatment.

 

Audiosilente black stone is a turntable pulley made in solid graphite material, which the company feels is the best material for smoothing the vibrations.

 

Also at the Sound Of The Valve 2013 show was Audiojam2, which is an original audio lab that can design and make loudspeakers of any size and type. In their exhibition they presented the new model VIPI, a small tower floorstander with the speakers in D'Appolito vertical configuration. The new tweeter D.D.T.T. (Tactile technology) is mounted in the Status Quo model, the Spika, the smallest transmission line tuning system of the world. This is a nearfield micro monitor.

 

Erzetich Audio aims at enhancing the personal music enjoyment by producing high quality headphone amplifiers with specific rustic/industrial design. The company started their line of products with three headphone amplifiers: Bacillus, Bacillus Tilia and Perfidus, as well as a glass stand Tilia Vitro. Erzetich Audio products keep a clean and fine industrial design, as well as a simple use and positioning. That's why this Italian company strives to keep the units as compact as possible by incorporating the power supply directly into chassis.

 

RJ Design for Milano Hi Fidelity 2013 introduced two kinds of loudspeakers to the general public, a stand version, called Pentagramma and a floor version called Violini Primi. Pentagramma consists of a tweeter with special waveguide and a ported mid-woofer. This system has an excellent quality/price ratio with extraordinary performance and frequency response. The all-new Violini Primi features a refined and prestigious cabinet. The 9" Morel sealed woofer even now is one of the best systems delivering an impressive extended bass response. The 5" Seas midrange with neodymium magnets is connected to a tweeter belonging to same brand, which is housed in a separate structure for better insulation from vibrations. Everything is contained in a stiff structure carefully designed to minimize internal sound reflections.

 

Grandinote Shinai has refined and charming sound of Magnetosolid amplifiers with what they feel is supreme musical characteristics. The Prestigio dual case 60W amplifier are two mono units all enclosed in a single chassis. It produces 37 wpc with a damping factor >150. frequency response from 2 Hz to 240 kHz and has both balanced RCA anbd unbalanced XLR inputs.

 

Hifidirect proudly presented a new twist innovation in Hi-Fi! This traditional manufacturer of loudspeaker VEF Radiotehnika RRR is located in Riga, Latvia, since 1927. Recently RRR became famous again for its loudspeaker Giant FS-100. This floorstanding is 1.23 meters high and weighs close to 50 kilograms per piece! The dynamics and large soundstage of this speaker is claimed to rival those of products costing 3 or 5 times its price (Euro 699 each). With its gorgeous finishes in glossy white or black, and the marvelous glossy real mahogany, Giant FS-100 surely makes a strong impact both sonically and visually.

 

DLS Sweden has been in the audio field for several years in Europe and USA, first establishing itself as a quality car and marine audio producer. Recently they came back home and just introduced an innovative range of on-wall loudspeakers aptly named Flatbox. Despite their elegant and sober design, there is quite a lot of substance inside. These two-way speakers with 1 or 2 woofers offer full frequency response. They can be completed with a subwoofer, also on-wall and flat, available in two sizes. Flatboxes can be easily hung on the wall with only one bolt or screw, and are available in a choice of satin white and glossy black finishes; each one is supplied with two front grilles, for you to select the best match, ice white or black.
