The Sound Of The Valve 2013 Milan Show Report
The Milano
Hi-Fidelity 2013 event by The Sound Of The Valve featured high-end audio
equipment including tube amplification, reference speakers, LP/CD, streaming media and more. This event is organized by Mr. Stefano
Zaini who also kindly found a way to provide Enjoy the Music.com with
show coverage. This event took place March 2nd and 3rd at the Centro Congressi NH Hotels Milanofiori.
Jakeband had Teflon tube sockets including
noval, octal, UX4, etc. The Teflon socket have virgin Teflon made
Germany, and copper tellurium with silver pins and connectors. They also offer a variety of RCA and XLR
sockets.
The Milano Hi-End was the ideal occasion to sell high quality vinyl to record collectors and audiophiles. The offer of
Red Ki spread from classical music, to jazz (Japanese pressings) and rock with a good balance among artistic value of the LPs, quality of the labels and, of course, price.
Show attendees appreciated the variety of records on display and they had some interesting conversations about different pressings, weight of the vinyl, comparisons between Japanese pressings
and normal pressings.
Torlai Roberto, owner of "Pickup Service", as well as repair and processing the existing pickups, also produces a line of exclusive products in its individual
pieces.
In a 5 x 5.5 meter space realized a collaboration with ForteVita and Te.De.S., Oudimmo Acoustic Design from Bergamo (Italy) has effectively corrected the room's frequency response with
"Low Master" membrane basstraps, "Magnet Fusor" modules for high frequencies diffusion and "AkuPan ART" acoustic panels made with high quality sublimation-printings, specifically engineered for the full happiness of ears and
significant other.
Omega Audio Concepts presented a system composed of a CD player called Timeless Exceed made of three different elements; mechanical reading and conversion unit and power supply with separate power supplies for each single stage with dedicated
transformer. The last module is for control logic and in housed in a separate unit. Integrated Amplifier Timeless DNA consist of two cabinets made from solid aluminum, one dedicated to completely dual mono power supplies for both the preamp section that the final section dedicated to each processor. The second cabinet is dedicated to the audio circuitry. The digitally controlled potentiometer has 196 steps of 0.5 dB with a single resistor in the signal path. The cool looking Soundwaves Micro speakers consist of two separate cabinets aluminum and coated MDF in leather. In the cabinet triangular suspended elastically there are speakers enclosed in separated volumes. The cabinet bottom, which acts as a stand, contains the crossover network with circuitry exclusive. Lastly, but not less important to the new system of the series connection Elements DNA cables. The system is completely
designed and handcrafted in Italy.
AAVT presented their new line of amplifiers made in Italy called the Sonus Mirus series. They are capable of
ultralinear or triode push-pull modes with and without feedback. They also has the new
JJ Electronics amplifiers, Fountek amplifier and the three-way speakers in acoustic suspension Ombre della Sera which exploit the NPS (Natural Prospective Sound)
principles.
Smokey Research was at the Milan Sound Of
The Valve 2013 event with their planar magneto static elements of medium to large size. These are constructed with stable multilayer membranes and have a 92dB/W/m sensitivity. The company has plans to offer a four-way speaker that is completely dipole in design.
