Saturday's Coverage
exaSound Audio Design is here @ the RMAF 2013 showing their new e28 DAC. This is the world's first
eight-channel DAC capable of DSD playback at a 12.288 MHz (DSD256) sampling rate. They also had the e20 Mk III and the e28, which are the first consumer DACs capable of PCM up to 384
kHz/32-bit and DSD up to 12.288 MHz.
Von Gaylord Audio brought their full
contingent including the VG-8 speakers and Starlet 4 integrated vacuum tube
amplifier. Really did enjoy the sound of this relatively small system.
Audioengine just launched their D3
24-bit/96kHz USB DAC for headphones.
Enjoy the Music.com Blue
Note Award earning Coincident Technology Turbo 845 SE tube amp
was here at RMAF 2013. This unit produces 28 wpc stereo and uses a 6EM7 for
input and 300B for driver. Each channel takes advantage of the 845 for output.
Music Hall’s sweet sounding Ikura turntable ($1195) has looks to match the sound.
