About
Australian Hi-Fi Magazine
Proudly published, produced and printed in Australia, Australian
HI-FI Magazine is the only magazine in the country that
commissions and publishes independent laboratory tests of all the audio
components it reviews, and has been doing this successfully for 45
years. This makes Australian Hi-Fi Magazine the longest-running
hi-fi publication in the Southern Hemisphere. It is the only
strictly audio hi-fi magazine published in Australia. It is available as
a print publication on newsstands throughout Australia, Tasmania and New
Zealand, and is also available electronically via subscription.
Since 1969, Australian Hi-Fi
Magazine has kept audiophiles up to date on all the latest
advances in audio technology and the hi-fi components available to enjoy
music. All equipment reviews and music reviews are written by
professionals who are experts in their respective fields, and are
checked for accuracy by experienced sub-editors. Every audio component
reviewed in Australian Hi-Fi Magazine
is also independently tested by a NATA-certified test laboratory, whose
test results and graphs are published with each review, together with a
detailed technical analysis of those results. The magazine is edited by
Greg Borrowman, Australia's best-known and most respected audio writer
who, after a brief career as a professional musician, built a 40-year
background in audio electronics and music that included teaching at TAFE.
He contributed a regular column to The
Sydney Morning Herald for two decades and has written about
hi-fi for many Australian magazines and dailies, including The
Age, Playboy, The
Melbourne Herald, and Qantas.
Australian Hi-Fi
Magazine is published six times a year
with an audited print circulation of 31,234 copies per issue, and a
readership of more than 78,000 per issue. The magazine is on sale at
thousands of news agencies throughout Australia and New Zealand, as well
as being available in selected audio stores across the country. It is
also available for loan in all Australian State libraries, including the
National Library of Australia, plus many suburban libraries.
Australian Hi-Fi
Magazine maintains a website
where information and news about all the latest Australian releases are
posted on a daily basis. On Australian Hi-Fi Magazine's site
you'll also find an extensive list of equipment reviews published over
the last ten years. On average, one new review is added every week and
is available in Adobe pdf format so you can see the review exactly as it
originally appeared in print. Australian
Hi-Fi Magazine also maintains a complete database of all
Australian and New Zealand distributors of hi-fi equipment, along with
updated listings of the brands they distribute called 'Who Sells What,
