Enjoy the Music.com's very special 25th Anniversary we're asking various
high-end audio manufacturers to answer the same ten questions. Their answers may
surprise you! This month we're featuring Andy Kerr, Director of Product Marketing & Communications at Bowers & Wilkins.
The story of Bowers & Wilkins starts with one man: John Bowers. Even some 30 years after his death, his passion and drive still pulse through the lifeblood of the company he founded.
Bowers' dream of producing the perfect loudspeaker has driven the company from its humble beginnings behind an electronics shop in Worthing to becoming a global leader in
audio. In 2019 Bowers & Wilkins' Formation was revealed to the world, marking the latest evolution of cable-free listening, first
realized by the company's Zeppelin Air in 2011. ---> 10

The Magic World Of TACET Real Surround Sound
TACET is one of the most dedicated and interesting labels in the world when it comes to multi-channel. The demand for their multi-channel recordings in TACET Real Surround Sound is constantly growing. The company has just announced their new multi-channel download store in addition to the physical recordings. With TACET Real Surround Sound you participate! You take an active part in the game of thoughts and sensations. You find yourself in the heart of the music and witness how the score reveals its hidden beauties. Those who engage in it will be rewarded with an intensity of musical experience that goes far beyond stereo listening. Besides digital downloads for instant musical pleasures, there's also physical sound carriers with the TACET Real Surround Sound SACD,
Blu-ray, and of course DVD-Audio discs are also available.
Music and sound are inconceivable without space. Everyone knows that a concert can only develop its full beauty through the acoustics of a concert hall. Sound carriers with stereo technology only simulate the spatial impression as it was predominant at the given recording situation. TACET is now going an important step further. Through the use of modern 5.1 Surround technology, it is possible to exactly reproduce the acoustic spaces or even create them anew, offering the listener so far untold perspectives on a musical work. TACET real surround sound stands for a completely new way to make classical music not only audible, but still more directly tangible.

AudioConLA 2022 Has Been Postponed
This just in from the show organizers:
For the last fifteen years, Sarah and I have been organizing audio shows, and believe us, we went through many epic situations. Since the pandemic's beginning, we have closely followed the development of Covid-19 and its variants to make sure we make the right decision at the right time. As a result, in the last 22 months, we have canceled three of our four shows as it was unsafe.
When we announced AudioConLA last June, no one could have predicted the situation we are in today. Since last week, the condition has deteriorated rapidly. The CES is seeing its most prominent exhibitors withdraw due to the exponential increase of Omicron cases. The Grammy Awards are postponing their dates, professional leagues are rescheduling games, thousands of flights are canceled every day, many countries are under lockdown, and the CDC is projecting record numbers of cases for the month of January.
Due to the emerging hyper-infectious Omicron variant, it became evident that it would be impossible to hold our event in total safety on the dates we planned it. We feel it would be thoughtless to host a large international gathering amid the rapidly spreading COVID-19 infections. The health and well-being of our participants are our ultimate priority. The event is therefore postponed to a later date.
We are not taking this decision lightly. We have invested one year of our life in developing this project and a considerable amount of money. However, we are confident that this is an investment for the future and not a loss in the
present. ---> Read more at our AudioConLA 2022

Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy Charity
As the UK's largest music therapy charity, we use music to enrich the lives of people with life-limiting illness, disabilities or feelings of isolation. This year's special online concert, hosted by Nile Rodgers, features performances from Sir Rod Stewart, Shakira, David A. Stewart and special guest Beverley Knight, Lindsey Buckingham, Enrique Iglesias, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Robbie Williams, Imelda May, Jess Gillam and more! Host Niles Rogers open the video by saying, "I am delighted to welcome you all to The Stars Come out to Sing at Christmas for Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy 2021. I'm so thrilled to be back as your host for this special evening. Last year was the first time we brought Nordoff Robbins famous Christmas Carol service online and it was the most successful public event ever. What a show we have for you tonight. We have Christmas carols for you to sing along to, festive readings, and of course, I have brought along a whole bunch of my music friends to entertain you with exclusive performances. Nordoff Robbins is a charity that believes in the value of music for all people in our society. Their vision is to live in a world where, through music therapy, human potential is recognised regardless of profound disabilities, illness or social exclusion."
"Tonight we want to raise as much money as we can and we will be telling you throughout the programme exactly how to do that. Through our own music making, I know how music can connect with people in a way that nothing else can. So please enjoy the show and donate whatever you can to this incredible cause. Every donation counts and goes directly to the charity. I'd like to thank everyone performing tonight and those who have donated and supported already, especially our partners, Hipgnosis Songs, Open Exchange, the London Stock Exchange and YouTube. Tonight simply would not have been possible without their support. So let's kick it off right
now, it's time to sing along, have fun, donate and spread Christmas cheer far and wide." Please share and get involved on social media using #singfornordoffrobbins. You can
donate to Nordoff Robbins at their website.
We're sure you'll enjoy the video below during this festive, and musical,
holiday season. As always, in the end what really matters is that you... enjoy
the music!

Within his editorial, Martin Colloms says "Alan Sircom, editor at HI Fi+ (issue 198, November 2021), prompted by COP26, asks what the audio industry can do to combat climate change. It's an interesting question, but may run contrary to traditional business models for audio, where upscaling and upgrading drives the hi-fi economy. Magazines thrive on a seemingly endless stream of new and improved product and audio technology, while a large proportion of readers continue to prefer paper copies made from trees and finished with inks, laminates and varnishes made from petrochemicals. And then there is the physical transportation.
Perhaps we should resist the call for the new, for endless renewal, which is unfortunately a habit encouraged by our industry claiming just a bit more of this and a bit more of that for improved audio reproduction. And we don't help by reviewing and publicising still more new introductions in seemingly endless new product reviews."

Wanna Have Some Musical Fun? Roger Skoff writes about another way to
enjoy the music.
Article
By Roger Skoff I have 14 different recorded performances of Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade,
23 of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, 11 of Shostakovich's Symphony
No. 15, and at least 8 of his Waltz No. 2. I also have multiple live
and studio performances of all kinds of rock and pop music, either performed by
the same artists at different venues and times or with the same principal
performer(s) and different support personnel — ranging all the way from just
different backup players or singers to a full symphony orchestra (Deep Purple
"In Concert with The London Symphony Orchestra" 1999, for example). ---> Wanna Have Some Musical Fun?
Statista Says Music Is #1 This Holiday Season
According to Statista, "While every family celebrates Christmas a little differently, each with its own sets of customs and traditions, there are things that most celebrants can agree on, things that are considered essential for a Merry Christmas. According to Statista's GCS 2021 Holiday Special, Christmas music is topping the list of holiday must-haves. 49 percent of Americans consider the right tunes an essential part of the holiday season, the question of which Christmas songs are
'the right ones'
notwithstanding." As always... enjoy the music!

Free Turntable Cartridge Alignment Protractor Enjoy the Music.com wishes you and yours a wonderful
holiday season. As a show of thanks, we want to remind our reader about our free turntable cartridge alignment protractor. One is pre-made, the other brings hi-tech to the forefront as you can create your very own protractor using Excel! Like all two-point protractors, the trick is to have the cartridge mounted so that the needle aligns perfectly on
both dots without moving the protractor or cartridge. What you may need to do is mount the cartridge a bit loose and slightly move it forward or back and see how it aligns on both points.
In addition, you'll find an Excel file at the link located on our Free Stuff page. This is a two-page spreadsheet; one page for Löfgren "A" alignment and one page for Löfgren "B" alignment. Professor Erik Löfgren was actually the person who developed modern tonearm alignment geometry back in 1938. Baerwald, Stevenson, and others came along later, and each published alignment geometry equations which have been shown to be identical to those published by Löfgren, and yet they included no recognition that Löfgren had already published the same equations. Baerwald even lists Löfgren's paper in his references. We correct this, and you can
get your free turntable cartridge alignment tool / Excel program at this
link.

Precisely the one that we are supposed to be handing out at

Kimber Kable Naked
Interconnects Review Let's go skinny dipping... with an impressive leap in cabling technology!
Review By
Paul L. Schumann Ok,
we've all done it. We've swum in the water in our birthday suits. It may have
been in a swimming pool, maybe in a lake or stream, maybe even in the ocean. I
don't want to know your details, and I'm sure you don't want to know mine. But
one way or another, we got naked outside and took the plunge. And no
matter the outcome, it was a memorable experience. Such as with the Kimber Kable
Naked Interconnects. My familiarity with Kimber Kable goes back further than I like
to admit. Back then I was still a novice to the world of high-end interconnects.
It was 1997 and I just upgraded my CD player. ---> Kimber Kable Naked Interconnects

Pass Laboratories INT-25 Solid-State Integrated
Amplifier Review A fantastic sounding Class A stereo amplifier! Review By
Tom Lyle Lest one
think that this review is simply not only more evidence that I have somehow
formed an untoward relationship with Pass Laboratories, I'd build my defense
around the fact that every time I reviewed one of their high-end audio
components, I was "assigned" the task. Sure, the fact that I use not only the
power and preamplifier but also the headphone amplifier I use as references,
must not help my case. The next thing I know I'm asked to review their INT-25
integrated amplifier. It's tough work, but someone has to do it. Yes, I'm
grateful for my problems. ---> Pass Laboratories INT-25

spectrum. With vinyl sales still rising, no surprise there are two affordable products in this category – the beautifully finished Teac TN-5BB turntable and Pro-Ject Phono Box RS2 phono stage. A link between them is that both cater for balanced cartridge connection through XLR cables, in order to eliminate hum and some forms of noise, improving sound quality. Teac's turntable was a delight to use and sounded good too. Within this month's editorial, Alan Sircom says
"As is tradition when looking at an annual awards celebration, it's time to look back at changes in the audio world and then apply a little bit of
crystal ball gazing skills to try to work out precisely what shape the business is in and where it's going. Except it doesn't work like that this year. Looking back on 2021 is impossible without taking one or two things into account; not so much talking about 'elephants in the room' more 'what are we doing in the elephant
house?'. Instead, let's look to the positive things we need to do to rebuild and restart; and one of the first is perhaps counter-intuitive for a magazine about staying at home and listening to music; get out more!"

Raidho TD 3.8 Floorstanding Loudspeaker Review Wonderfully cohesive and engaging.
Review By Dr. Matthew Clott The
art of weaving pros allows us to convey description, imagery, opinion,
impression, and emotion. Yet Raidho's TD 3.8 floorstanding loudspeaker, as
reviewed here, lends itself to the elegance of the
solitary word; my notes are awash with them.... "Behold, Shimmer, Brilliant,
Wow, Delicious, Holographic, Cohesive, Decompressive." I think I made up the
last one, but I'll explain later.... Raidho, as a company, has gone through some changes. The Raidho
of old has matured, retaining much of the DNA of its' previous incarnation while
looking to the future with a redefined path. This metamorphosis has resulted in
some voicing changes and a slightly different design philosophy yet retained the
passion for physical beauty and all-out audiophile performance without
restrictions. --->

love music.

and eCoustics (one of Enjoy the Music.com's online partners) have
joined together on a new video series aiming to connect with the next generation of music lovers, audiophiles and hi-fi enthusiasts. Our goal is to inform, entertain and attract an entirely new audience that appreciates music, but is not quite sure how to begin its
journey. In our inaugural episode, Emiko covers the basics of what it means to be an audiophile and what "hi-fi" actually means. Future episodes will cover the building blocks of putting together a high-end system and how new listeners can actually have fun on their journey. That is allowed.

World Premiere Review! AGD Tempo di GaN Stereo Amplifier Review Worthy of the highest recommendation. Review By Rick Becker Alberto Guerra took a dive into high-end audio using his background in the development of GaNFET transistors as his springboard to success. In bold strokes he premiered his
Avant-Garde style Vivace monoblock putting out 100 Watts into 8 Ohms, 200 Watts
into 4, and the Art Deco-like simulated tube design of The Audion, another
monoblock putting out 85 Watts into 8 Ohms and 170 Watts into 4 Ohms. The clever
ploy of inserting the power modules into the glass of vacuum tubes and featuring
them prominently in his designs, allowed for easy user upgradeability when new
power circuits were developed. And indeed, one was developed two years later. Pull out the old tube; plug in the new one. Suddenly you have
a new, improved amplifier at a relatively small cost with a boost of power and
an increase in sound quality. --->

Lindemann Limetree Network II Music Streamer An island in the stream. Review By Paul Schumann Streaming
is the last frontier of high-end audio, or so I've been told. This is critically
important, and so here we're reviewing Lindemann's Limetree Network II music
streamer. As reported within Enjoy the Music.com, streaming has already
conquered mainstream audio with an 84% revenue share. But we audiophiles are a
picky bunch. I have dipped my big toe in the audio stream a couple of times,
with disappointing results. Both times, I used my laptop connected to my beloved
ifi micro iDSD. The first time I used Spotify, the second time I used Tidal.
Both times I found the sound lacking in sparkle and involvement. Based on those
experiences, I concluded that, while I might use a streaming service to casually
listen to music using my phone, I would probably never use it for serious music
listening. --->
