New York Audio Show
Report 2014
VPI has new
turntables, new tube amp and much more! Look, I've been awake since 4am and so
here are a few pics. i'll add in details tomorrow when my brain and body
recover. Oh, wait, near the bottom of this page is a huge sneak peek of a
prototype tubed headphone amp by....wait for it....
Woo Audio's prototype of their battery powered stereo headphone amp/DAC here at NYAS 2014. It uses the TI5102 DAC chip and handles 32-bit/192kHz, a few subminiature tubes and produces 400ma output per channel. Dig it, there's me enjoying hi-res music via the
Samsung Galaxy Note
3, which plays 192kHz/24-bit music files. Michael Mercer eat your heart out as I was using
Audeze cans.
My longtime friend Herb Reichert. First met
Herb in 1995 when he was living within a Firehouse apartment in Staten Island.
Drove up there from Florida during a horrible snowstorm so he could fix the
power supply on my Ongaku (Japan/Kondo). Obscure Fact: Herb
makes the best peanut butter sandwiches! You can read many of
Herb's articles and equipment reviews right here on Enjoy the Music.com
via our search engine at the top of
the homepage.
