Mark Eldridge
Mark is no stranger in the competition field. Besides all the first place
trophies he has won, his business centers around tuning and analyzing high-end mobile
music reproduction system. After hearing and reading so much about him and his truck, it
was good to finally have a chance to meet him and listen to the system in his truck. My
humble apologies for not having more information than you see below, yet as i was
interviewing Mark and photoshooting his truck my ride to the airport said we go now
or you walk. i don't know about you, but i'm not gonna walk from downtown Atlanta to the
airport many miles away.
Two Optima D750s Batteries And Fuse Block
Mark knows how important it is to have high-quality power feeding his
system. Therefore it was natural that he chose the Optima battery system... two in fact!
Optima's deep cycle D750s comes in a yellow colored top, yet Mark creatively painted them
red to match his power wire and for better cosmetics. Street Wires gold batter terminals
with covers and Plexiglas covered blade fuse block complete this system.
MTX 2300 Amplifier
Just behind the drivers side on the wall of the truck is just one of the
four MTX 2300 amplifiers used in this system. Each wire is carefully positioned and very
wire has a grommet. Covering the amplifier is a custom made Plexiglas cover. This is truly
one very professional installation.
View Of The Truck's Inside Rear
In the read of this truck you'll find two MTX Black Gold 15"
subwoofers to give this car all the subwoofer it needs. Two Rane ME30 modified
third-octave analog equalizers help tune this car to give it the high sound quality it
reproduces. To polish off the rear we have a Rane AC23 analog crossover which feeds the
appropriate amplifier's their signal. There are no digital to analogue converts in this
truck. It's sound quality begins solely on the modified Alpine 7909 CD head unit. No fancy
digital signal processing of any kind is found after the signal exits the head unit.
Veritas 8" Model AB-218 Driver
In the kick panels we find the Veritas 8" model AB-281 midbass
drivers. These units help to put as much bass as possible coming from the front of the
vehicle. Custom-built horns are mounted on the top of the dash. This keeps the sound
imaging high and solidly placed. For compression drivers inside these horns Mark chose the
Altec 802D's. The sound quality of his truck is excellent! When all was said and done,
Mark took home first place and $5,000 in this competition. Congratulations Mark!
