Best Music Of 2002 Awards by Herb Reichert For "Album of the Year" I would pick Ralph Stanley by Ralph Stanley (DMZ/Columbia CK 86625) produced by T Bone Burnett, Bob Neuwirth and Larry Ehrlich). This is Ralph, the one one with the haunting voice, who along with his brother Carter made up the famous Mercury recording duo, "The Stanley Brothers". These two guys are the spiritual foundation of American mountain gospel. They put all the rock in the "Rock of Ages". This album is a sure-fire Grammy nomination. |
