Nike Air Pressure
Sneaker
Nike goes back to the 1980's.

Have been telling my
Muse / wife Heather that the 80's are back, yet as a lady of the late 90's she keeps denying it. Well, case in point is that Nike just re-released their Air Pressure sneaker, which was first available in the late 1980's. Having owned three sets of these (one set at $190 and two when they were being
discounted to $99), i can attest to the forward-thinking Nike did in the
1980's... and how extremely comfortable these sneakers were too!
A separate, nearly phallic symbol air pump, is inserted into the rear... of the sneaker
(what were you thinking?). The manually-operated clear plastic inflator pumps
air to inflate the the sneaker's internal air bladder. You press the center button on the filler to release the air.
With the version just released, you could only get these sneakers via the Nike SNKRS app for $300... or right now via eBay for
around $400! As for me,
i'm waiting for the Nike self-lacing Back To The Future shoes. And yes, when i
wore these sneakers back in the '80's many felt they were 'Back To The Future'
shoes, which they most certainly are not! They are excellent sneakers in their
own right and back in the day i played hoops with University of Florida bball
players (full court of course) and gave them a run for their talent.
A word of advice
to new owners of these great sneakers, do not lose the manual inflator as
it is extremely difficult to get the shoes off when inflated. Thus the 'trick'
of keeping them inflated all the time because you lost the inflator is a futile
task.
