As the warmer spring days finally began arriving, rather than doing the typical spring cleaning activities, we kept ourselves busy creating new editorial content for this June/July 2014 issue. Unless you consider installing outdoor speakers a part of spring cleaning
-- which I certainly did! In fact, we generated so much content that we simply couldn't fit it all inside this print issue and so you'll find a few online exclusive articles that go along with this issue.
If you're like me, then part of your spring clean-up could mean doing some dusting and general cleaning behind your audio I video component rack. This is a perfect time to neatly arrange your cable runs and identify various areas that could be tweaked and upgraded to gain a little more performance. To help you achieve the full potential of your audio I HT system, I invite you to check out our "Nordost Cables, Power Products and Resonance Control Devices' feature article, written by yours truly with the help of Nordost.
If you're a movie buff, you'll be glad to read the "Lights, Camera, Action... IMAX!" feature contributed by Bob jones, a friend of CANADA HiFi who also assists us with the Toronto Audio Video Entertainment Show (TAVES). In addition to learning a little about the history of the Canadian company IMAX, you'll learn about its latest developments, like the IMAX Private Theatre.
Something that I'm tremendously excited about this month, is the launch of a completely new www.canadahifi.com website. The new design offers readers a sleek, modern look & feel, as well as a very quick load time. Thanks to a new better organized layout, feature articles and reviews will be easier to locate than ever before, and the site will suggest similar articles that readers might be interested in. The new website is also designed to function more seamlessly with tablets, touch screen laptops and smart phones, making the content easy to read across all portable devices.
Finally, I am delighted to introduce you to our newest contributor Gaelen Andrews. Gaelen is as passionate about music as any of us at CANADA HiFi and will help to bring a younger, fresher perspective to our readers through feature articles and reviews. You'll be able to read his first contribution ''The Outdoor Speaker Buyer Guide" on our website, just as this issue is hitting the stores.
Wishing you a great summer!
