It's Showtime Here At SWAF 2025
It was good to see Angie from American Sound at the SWAF 2025 audiophile show. In fact, it seemed like whenever I went to a different area of SWAF, she was there. I was starting to suspect that she had a clone at the show, but she assured me it was just her doing what needed to be done.
Angie had two systems she was demonstrating in the American Sound Distribution room. The first consisted of Avantgarde Zero iTron speakers ($26.000 per pair). These speakers are self-powered, so you only need a balanced connection to your DAC/preamplifier. The Zero iTrons were paired with a Phasemation CM1500 preamp ($13,800), a PE 3030 Perpetuum Ebner Turntable/PE TO 2018 tonearm / Ortofon MC Quintet Black S cartridge ($5,900), and a Phasemation EA 350 phono stage ($7,100). Cables were by Cables were by Transparent and Espirit.
The second system I listened to featured the Colibri C2 Horn Speakers ($4,490 each) with stands ($550 each) and the Colibri C18 Subwoofer ($5,990 each) with a stand ($650). The C2 Horn speakers were powered by Synthesis 98DC SE monoblocks ($7,800 per pair). Both systems sounded incredibly fast and transparent. The big difference was the amount of base provided by the C18 sub.
