LAAS 2017 High-End Audio Show Report
Moving on to
more rooms for my LAAS 2017 show report we have a variety of both home and portable audio.
Ok, mainly home audio yet a few fabulous portable audio pieces slipped into the
fray.
ELAC and Audio Alchemy were being demo'ed by Mr.
Awesome himself Andrew Jones. While i can't say it was the very best sounding
ELAC demo i've heard at a show, it was very good. Especially for the price! It
is incredible to hear Herculean sound quality at more affordable price points
and here's where ELAC and Audio Alchemy are Kings.
Dana Cable gave attendees the opportunity to try
out the company's headphone cabling as compared to stock. Needless to say,
Dana Cable had a fuller frequency response and touch more clarity too. Breeze
Audio's USB DAC was joined by the Head Space headphone amplifier. Sensational
sounding system i might add.
USA distributor On A Higher Note made their presence felt at LAAS 2017 with the Vivid Giya G1 Spirit ($93,000). Merging Technologies
DAC and other great gear brought forth music to a high-end audio level. Also of
note is that On A Higher Note is now Gryphon Audio's USA distributor. Am very
much looking forward to the reaction from USA show attendees, as Gryphon Audio
gear is one of my all-time faves within the industry.
A nice variety of Luxman products, also
distributed by On A Higher Note, were at
LAAS 2017. Here's another photo of the Gila,
as it's a fun speaker to photograph! The roll/twist at the top reminds me of
that dancer on Star Wars.
