Wyred 4 Sound Intimo Headphone Amplifier

  These are days where most of us are spending more time at home and hopefully able to enjoy our audio and video systems more. For me, this includes a lot of air play of my Headphone System. With others close by, my headphones have become an invaluable "partner in peace".

Wyred 4 Sound's Intimo ($1499) is EJ Sarmento's flagship headphone amplifier. Intimo has a list of features that are hard to beat at anywhere near this price point. Besides being beautiful and made from some incredible materials, you can start with this Feature List which only ticks the surface of how and why this product was made.

This product has the "smarts", but it has SOUL for days. Let us start with 'on the fly' output impedance and gain control that allow you tailor your headphones Intimo for very best results. Move on to a bypass-able three-band parametric equalizer that allows you to further tailor the sound that's just right for you. You can now take what you thought was your favorite and apply that final tweak to make it perfect.

With adjustments for low/mid/high, you can not only control levels but also frequency turn over points for each and the "Q" (width of the band you are
adjusting) of the frequency.

'Vari-Lock GCMS' (Gain Control Module System) is THE ANSWER to a huge problem as it relates to the control of the volume level and headphones in general. Most Volume Controls have horrible channel-to-channel tracking - but in Intimo we have The Answer. This is a "perfect" Volume Control and the results are there to be enjoyed.
