Living Sound Audio T-3 Analog Turntable At AXPONA 2020 Show Report

Underwood HiFi and LSA partners with Margules Audio to produce their new LSA T-3 analog turntable. A new partnership has been entered between Underwood HiFi and their Living Sound Audio (LSA) brand together with Margules Audio to produce turntables in their Mexico City based bespoke factory known for their world class precision and execution over their 75-year history.

The T-3 turntable has a machined fully balanced high-mass platter (from a single block of aluminum) sitting in a ball bearing bushing. The platter is driven by a synchronous low noise, low RPM, and low torque motor. It is suspended in a spring mounting to avoid noise induction to the turntable. The motor pivot is also ball bearing.

• The T-3 has three contact or resting points: two inverted conical isolation feet, height adjustable for leveling, and the isolated motor assembly to transfer energy away from the turntable.

• The arm mounting is universal, and you can easily adjust it for vertical tracking angle and azimuth. The T-3 comes with the UP-01 uni-pivot tonearm. The 9.5-inch tonearm is made of anodized machined aluminum. The tonearm also has internal anti-resonance rings. The UP-01 allows for easy and precise adjustment of overhang, azimuth, anti-skating, and tracking weight. All of this results in a table that has dead-on speed accuracy, quiet background and an arm that tracks beautifully.

The Underwood T-3 can be configured several different ways. Standard configuration includes a fabulous upgrade 'kit' including a $400 turntable resonance control weight, $250 custom dust cover, $40 digital VTF scale, $40 cartridge alignment protractor (VTA, overhang, and azimuth), plus two $30 spare belts and $50 cork / rubber compound platter mat. The entire kit and kaboodle retails at 3500, but LSA are offering this package at $2199.

There is a bundle that comes with the Sound-Smith Aida cartridge (normally $2000 by itself) and prices out at $5500, but LSA are introducing this in its entirety at $3499 (a $2000 package savings!).
