The Van den Hul room had a quite good sounding lower-priced system featuring the Rega Planet CD player,
Rega Mira integrated stereo amplifier and Dynaudio Audience 42 small bookshelf/stand mounted loudspeakers. Naturally all cables were from
Van den
Hul.
Seen above is Van den Hul's new Optocoupler M-II TOSlink cable. Other new, and some bargain-priced, cables are also now available from
Van den
Hul as well.
Audio Connection's room were showing the Cairn 4808 "Class A" integrated
amplifier from France (top), the Sony DVP-S9000ES SACD player, Cairn MEA monoblock power amplifiers and Karan Acoustics KA i 180 integrated amplifier.
Silverline Audio Technologies' SR17 monitor loudspeakers ($2,690 USD) round
out this system with its silk
soft-dome tweeter and poly midrange/woofer.
Also in the Audio Connections room were the Final Labs Daruma ball bearing audio isolators ($80 USD).

Caliber Music was selling both digital discs and vinyl. Seen above are an interesting selection of Chesky Records and Groove Note audiophile vinyl pressings.
Audio Vision distributes many popular lines including USA-based Adcom, UK-based Monitor Audio and Monster Cable (as covered in
yesterday's show coverage).
IBS Digital was showcasing their TWR500 full range floorstanding loudspeakers (R$3,100)
that use sandwiched Kevlar/paper cones for midranges and woofers with die cast aluminum baskets. Tweeters are silk soft-dome tweeter with double magnet design.
In the Audioway room was a very wide selection of Electrocompaniet electronics. From top to bottom are the CM1 24-bit DAC/transport ($4,900 USD), ECI4 balanced integrated amplifier ($3,800 USD), ECI4 7 balanced pre-amplifier ($2490 USD), and a pair of AVV 220 stereo amplifiers ($2,690 USD) that can also operate in monoblock form.
Audioway also had the Triangle Celius 202 floorstanding full range loudspeaker ($2,660 USD). Tweeter is 1-inch titanium design; midrange and bass are 6.5" doped paper cones. They are 91dB sensitive and said to be very tube friendly with a frequency response of 40Hz to 20kHz.
Protus is a major distributor here in Brazil who represents Harmon Kardon, Linn, McIntosh, Tannoy, and also had a few pieces from Nakamichi and Fujitsu for plasma displays. Here are a few photos from their show room...
