July 2021 Video: GTT Audio Visits Rufus Smith Of
Enjoy the Music.com
The week of May 24, 2021, I had the pleasure of hosting two of what I consider two of the giants of the industry, Bill Parrish of GTT Audio & Video and Joe Kubala of Kubala-Sosna Research. GTT Audio has been in business since 1995 and has established itself as one of the top retailers/distributors of high-end audio equipment in the US. GTT is currently the distributor and flagship retailer for Audionet, Kronos Audio, and Mola Mola. In addition, they are a premier dealer for YG Acoustics and Kubala Sosna. Of course, these companies represent just a fraction of the products they carry, and Bill brings 43 years of experience in the audio/music business to share with his clients.
Since its founding in 2003 by Joseph Kubala and Howard Sosna, Kubala-Sosna has rocketed to join Nordost, MasterBuilt Audio and Audience, plus a small group of others as one of the top cable and power manufacturers in the world. This growth was driven due to the design skills of Dr. Howard Sosna, a Maxillofacial Surgeon, also has experience as a consultant to the audio industry and the excellent business skills of Joseph Kubala.
Bill Parris (pictured above) and Joe traveled from New Jersey to deliver the Mola Mola Makua Preamplifier, the Kaluga Monoblocks, plus a complete loom of Kubala-Sosna Realization Cables and get a healthy dose of North Carolina in the summer. After listening to my system in its normal configuration, we replaced the electronics and cables one piece at a time, pausing to listen to the system between changes to get a handle on any changes to the sound.
The following video, made as part of a series by Bill for GTT, gives our initial impressions of the effect the new components had on the system and serves as my introduction to his viewers and those who read Enjoy the Music.com wondering just who Rufus Smith is.
I hope you enjoy the video and much as I enjoyed doing it. I do want to thank Bill and Joe for taking the time to drive down to Charlotte to bring the gear and install it. We had an enjoyable four days of listening to music and sharing some great local cuisine. As always, in the end what really matters is that you... enjoy the music.
