An update about a coffee and espresso lovers dream bean.

  Based in sunny Groveland, Florida, you'll find Golden Hills Coffee Roasters who are a family-owned company roasting custom blends of specially prepared and roasted coffee beans for both Americana and espresso. Their artisan handcrafted micro coffee roasting is done by hand, in the classic method, which allows them to carefully control the process using sight, sound, and smell for every part of the roasting process. They feel that the fresher your coffee, the better. And that's why they do roasts each week. Each order is custom roasted for your order to guarantee you receive the freshest and finest quality coffee available, which in turn allows you to achieve that perfect cup of coffee and / or espresso.

Their Golden Hills Dorato Colline, available in both 12 ounce and 5-pound bags, is a signature blend that was developed to represent the company's Italian Heritage. The beans are roasted dark to achieve a heavy bold cup of Italian coffee.

Golden Hills Breakfast Blend is a well-balanced coffee with a medium body that was created to be easy drinking in the morning, but powerful enough to get you going.

For our family, we're into espresso and cappuccino big time! Two cups a day each at a minimum. Hey, how do you think I can code for 20 hours straight? Having tried an abundance of beans from all around the world, from typical mass-produced commercial (junk imho) to 'cat shit' beans, the audiophile son of Golden Hills Coffee Roasters' company owners brought me a bag of their Golden Hills Espresso 12 ounce bag. This Espresso is a custom blend of beans with notes of syrup, brown sugar and caramel according to them. Heather and I highly agree with their assessment / tasting notes.

It is also highlighted with cherry tones that are enjoyed for a flavorful Espresso. A very accurate description to be sure, and made within my beloved Rocket Mozzafiato Type V, with whole beans ground by my customized Rocky Rancilio grinder that is highly maintained by Yours truly, my Muse / wife Heather and I came away very impressed! Very smooth, with not a hint of bitterness at all as typically found with many beans. The flavor profile description above is very accurate.

Coffee Geek Alert!
And yes, we use the IMS E61 Compotation Precision Group Shower Screen imported from Italy and Reg Barber wood handle tamper if you must know. Use double-filtered live water, as distilled is too dead imho. There's more, yet hopefully, you realize we're true espresso geeks in every sense of the word. Ok, and am sure this surprised no one, Heather was not a geek until she met me. After years of enjoying my cups of custom mix, she's f__ked! No longer do those 'fast-food-ish foo-fee drive-through' cups really 'do it' for her. Once you make your own, you not only have a far more satisfying beverage, it is far cheaper to make too! Why pay more at the drive-through or mass-market McDonS'BucksD'Donuts to enjoy less? Espresso geeks unite... separately by our tweaked boilers that are PID temperature and pressure controlled. :)

For those who are curious, our mainstay go-to mix is a custom blend I devised using Café Do Ponto pre-ground Traditional mixed 40/60% with Cafeterie whole bean (which we import from Brazil as you can not buy them anywhere else but in Brazil!). To date over many years (decades!) have punted virtually any other custom roasted beans, and have been sent waaaaay many to try over the years.

A More Satisfying Cup, And $ave Money Too!
Once again, we loved the Golden Hills Espresso Signature Blend so much that we've been enjoying them ever since the first pour, as the Café Do Ponto custom mix sits unused. If you truly appreciate (and love) coffee and / or espresso, both Heather and I highly recommend you trying Golden Hills Coffee Roasters products. You're also helping support their son, who is an avid audiophile you may have met at RMAF 2019 and / or Florida Audio Expo 2020.

June 2020 Update
My lovely Muse / wife Heather and I have been trying out more freshly roasted beans from Golden Hill Coffee Roasters. This time we're trying their whole bean drip coffee selection and we're loving it! Heather and her 19 year old daughter both drink drip coffee (Americana), and so they've been enjoying their whole beans. We grind the beans within a reasonably-priced Baratza Encore conical burr coffee grinder and the results have been outstanding! Their website descriptions are very accurate, too. Please keep in mind this is a small family-run business, and their son is both a pianists and audiophile. Rest assured you're helping good people.
