We Don't Want You To Miss Out
We have initiatives to reinforce the magazine's access globally.

And just like that, our last issue of 2025 was sent to the printers —yes, we are still doing print and we have decided to keep doing it until we find a better way to serve the same readers who are gladly paying to read this publication in paper.

We don't want anyone to miss out. Our increased focus on audio product development and design has been recognized as a unique, valuable resource, serving a wider audience than ever—evenly spread globally. The only thing we can do is make it easy for our readers to get access and read the way they like. Not even the largest media organizations have found the "magical" formula to make magazines available in other ways. Magazines, with their thoughtful layout, carefully reviewed content, and attractive graphical design, are still the highest form of periodical publications, offering the most consistent form of disseminating knowledge.

When the Apple iPad was introduced in 2010, Steve Jobs emphasized both its immersive, visually rich display and its transformative potential for digital publishing. While the role of tablets for that specific purpose was never consolidated, it helped promote web-based digital publishing platforms. Consequently, it did contribute to drastically reducing the number of print media, convincing many publishers that a digital alternative would be a preferred form. And in part, the much higher popularity of smartphones with its increasingly larger high-quality touchscreen displays and pocket convenience changed everything.

The reality after 15 years turned out to be highly complex and fragmented. While many countries dismantled their established press distribution companies and available magazine kiosks and displays in convenience stores and bookstores, readers have in large part remained faithful to the concept of receiving a publication in print and the subscription model.

Unfortunately, without the print circulation numbers that resulted from kiosks and press distribution, costs quickly increased, pushing publishers to retire from those efforts and explore a pure 100% digital distribution alternative.

That turned out to be much harder to do than forecasted, with regular informational websites gradually becoming the preferred format—with more immediate, daily updates instead of curated weekly or monthly content. Yet, media brands have been reinforced by those same websites, allowing publishers to create a solid foundation to serve their target audiences. The best approach remains offering a combination of different platforms: websites, mobile content including email newsletters, and... monthly magazines.

Magazines offer focused insight and context that transcends the immediacy of news feeds or the breadth of general web media—cultivating a dedicated community of practitioners and thought leaders within a given field. Nothing replaces that.

For 2026, audioXpress will remain accessible in all formats. The Digital Subscription format allows the best current value, particularly for readers in remote areas. You can read the publication online (your choice—it works for any screen format and device), or you can download a PDF to read at any time, and keep it forever. Like the online publication, the PDF format allows full search of its contents for future reference.

Unfortunately, a strong increase in mail distribution costs, combined with the unpredictability of postal services in some countries and regions of the world, has forced us to increase the subscription value for International Print Subscriptions (audioXpress is originally published and printed in the United States). In order to expand access to audioXpress and its growing global audience, KCK Media Corp. makes online access to audioXpress magazine easy and accessible to all. If you want to download the PDF for that issue, you can also do so at any moment. Just pick one of the Digital Subscription options.

In 2026, we intend to announce further initiatives to reinforce the magazine's access globally. At the same time, we continue to reinforce our website with the best audioXpress and Voice Coil content, while our newsletter, The Audio Voice, is now reaching record numbers every week. Together, we offer the audio industry's reference resource for innovative solutions and technologies for developers, audio product managers, the industry, and its channel partners.

Thank you for being with us.
