Well Pleased Audio Vita
Well Pleased Audio Vida is here at T.H.E. Show Newport 2016 with a variety of high-end audio manufacturers. The exponential horn Diesis Audio Aura loudspeakers ($20,000) gave a very dynamic sound mated to the Angstrom Audio Lab Stella integrated vacuum tube amplifier ($16,000). Producing 100 Watts in Class A, it was being fed by the Aqua Acoustic Quality's Formula DAC ($13,800), Aqua Acoustic Quality's La Diva CD Transport ($8500), with an Antipodes DS-SSD music server ($4200) and Anticables rounding out the system.
Getting back to the Diesis Audio Aura loudspeakers, the structure is wrapped in fine leather and uses a 12" woofer, and mid-bass 10" transducer for frequencies from 1800Hz on downward. A 45mm exponential horn-loaded driver provides impressive off-axis dispersion. Overall, it uses a very unique crossover to allow all the frequencies to have space to allow the drivers to operate freely with little constrain. As you'd expect, sensitivity is a reasonable 93dB/W/m and it presents a 6 Ohms load. Frequency response within a normal room is claimed to be 42Hz to 23kHz (+/-3dB).
Angstrom Audio Lab's Stella vacuum tube integrated amplifier produces 100 Watts in Class A and i want you to focus on the excellent build quality. With that said, here are some pics and let your eyes bask in the glory of this design.
