Munich HIGH END Show Report 2016 JH Audio was here at HIGH END 2016 with their Layla universal, or available in custom fit, in-ear monitors (IEM, starting at $2725). Named after Eric Clapton's song, the Layla is said to be the very first reference / mastering IEM from Jerry Harvey. Armed with the company's most sophisticated crossover network, all crossover filters are 4th order. Keep in mind this is a custom, and proprietary, balanced armature design with 12 drivers per side. So the crossover is very tweak! JH Audio's specialized crossover circuit is combined with their Freqphase waveguide and new proprietary quad drivers.
There's also a variable bass output that is adjustable from cable. Low frequency drivers can be adjusted from 0dB to +/- 10dB. Frequency ranges from flat bass response up to +15dB from 10hHz to 100Hz. JH Audio's Layla provide noise isolation of around -26dB and includes a Moon Audio cable with 4-pin connection and machined aluminum locking collar. The input connector is industry standard 1/8" (3.5mm) 3-pin gold-plated unbalanced. Overall frequency response is from 10Hz to 23kHz and sensitivity is 117dB @ 1mW with an impedance of 20 Ohms.
There is little doubt that the JH Audio Layla is an incredible unit and have hard it on and off for over the past year. Am loving my time with the JH Audio Roxanne custom IEM, they fit great and, most importantly, sound impressive too. Loved my time with the It earns Enjoy the Music.com's Top 10 Award for its outstanding design and engineering in the field of IEMs.
