Technical Audio Devices (TAD) Amazes At FIAE 2024
TAD brings a wide array of high-performance audio gear to Tampa.

  Technical Audio Devices (TAD) began life as a project launched by Pioneer Electronic back in 1975 to create pro audio loudspeakers. According to the company, professional audio engineer Bart Locanthi felt that "genuine technology is true to the basics and that genuine technology places greater importance on sound quality than on technology for its own sake."

Over 40 years later TAD is achieving its core goals with each new product it creates. Custom parts are designed and engineered to work in concert to seamlessly produce the very best sound quality possible given the size and cost.

Here at the Florida International Audio Expo 2024, there's no doubt TAD has achieved its lofty goal of reproducing high-resolution recording studio quality sound. Bringing their products into home audio further brings the recording studio into our homes today. Having a very Big Room at FIAE 2024 allowed them to actively showcase a wide array of loudspeaker designs and dimensions.

Over the years have heard various TAD setups and to my ears this year was their best at achieving the most accurate and dynamic sound. Quality and accuracy reign supreme, with the smaller stand-mounters being great for nearfield and smaller rooms, while larger floorstanding designs can easily fill most home audio listening rooms.

Having stopped into the TAD room various times during the three-day show, I came away quite impressed with their tight, clean sound. As any recording or mastering studio engineer needs, the desire is to produce exactly what audio signal is fed to them. Without a doubt TAD has achieved this loft goal and as I said previously, at this year's Florida International Audio Expo they were producing the best sound to date! Bravo!
