MC Audiotech, Pass Labs, Audience AV, And
More At FIAE 2024
Back in July 2021, Enjoy the Music.com's Rick Becker reviewed the MC Audiotech Forty-10 floorstanding loudspeaker and said, "it is for the discerning music lover who is not afraid to think outside the box and seek out the unique as well as the very enjoyable." Here at the Florida International Audio Expo 2024, the company was showcasing a different model, the MC Audiotech TL-12.
As a visually more normal style of loudspeaker, the T-12 features the company's wide band line source drivers mated with a 12" transmission line woofer. Operating as a dipole from 300 Hz to 20 kHz, the overall frequency response is from 28 Hz to 20 kHz, has a sensitivity of 93dB/W/m, and presents a nice 8 Ohm non-reactive load to your amplification. The great news is that 70 watts should easily bring high volume levels to all but the largest rooms. Here's the gear list of their FIAE 2024 exhibit room:

Within Rick Becker's review of the MC Audiotech Forty-10, he said it "is clearly a very high-end speaker whether you choose solid-state or tube amplification. In making that decision, you will be simply fine-tuning the music to your personal preference. Unless you have a lot of extra gear laying about, you will need to factor in the cost of another amplifier of equal sound quality and some additional cables. Don't sell yourself short on either of these. Shop carefully and you will be rewarded." As a side note, we've also reviewed the Audience AV aR6-T4 Power Conditioner and the Audience AV Au24-SX high-performance cables. By using Pass Labs amplification they surely took care of using excellent high-performance audio gear. Mated with the Wolf Audio Systems Alpha 3 music server and Weiss DAC 501 processor also helped to showcase the excellent sound possible from the MC Audiotech TL-12.
Available in a variety of beautiful wood finishes and producing excellent sound with speed and agility, the MC Audiotech TL-12 is well worth an audition. Their high sensitivity means you don't need a massive amplifier with 250 Watts, as 100 Watts should do quite nicely. From smooth and lightning-fast highs to deep bass and all in-between, the MC Audiotech TL-12 is a must-listen if you're in the market for a floorstanding loudspeaker in the $20k to $40k range.
