Florida Audio Expo 2020 Show
Report
Suncoast Audio Stenheim Room 12-12
As with many high-end audio shows, and the Florida Audio Expo 2020 is no different, as there were local dealers who also showcased gear. Suncoast Audio is located at 7353 International Place, Unit 309, within sunny Sarasota (Florida) and had three exhibit rooms. Within Stenheim Room 12-12 during the very, very beginning of the show i stopped by and say a truly lovely setup! Obviously some tweaking needed to be done as this was right when the show began so there are no listening comment here, yet the gear and setup looked fantastic!
Stenheim's Alumine 2 bookshelf loudspeakers ($11,950) were joined by their larger Alumine 3 floorstanders ($29,950). During FLAX 2020 many rooms showcased Valve Amplification Company (VAC) amplifiers, as VAC is located in Florida too. VAC's Master Line Stage ($28,000) was driving the Signature 200 iQ stereo amplifier ($14,500), with digital source being Aurender A30 streamer / ripper / storage / DAC ($18,000).
Everyone loves analog, right(?), and so the sensual looking Acoustic Signature XX turntable ($5000, and they should have called it XXX) has their TA-2000 tonearm ($2995) with a Dynavector XX2 MC phono cartridge ($2000), which fed the TANGO Reference phonostage ($5000). Cables were all WireWorld (another Florida-based company, and please don't harass me if I list all cables here). The gear itself sat on a Critical Mass Systems stand ($$$$), which itself was standing on CenterStage Footers ($1780 for set of four.
Had hoped to stop back by the room later in the day or on Saturday, yet this being my last show many people wanted to schmooze and say their fond farewell to Yours Truly. Will say that Suncoast Audio has an excellent reputation, so when you're tired of Brexit England, or New England, and move to the sunny shores and sexy beaches of Florida definitely hook-up with the great guys at Suncoast Audio in Sarasota.
