CanJam Singapore 2022 Show Report
What we see here is the Perpetua IEM from DITA. Perpetua is DITA's latest flagship product, released to celebrate DITA's 10th anniversary. The all-new 12mm PPT-D dynamic driver used in Perpetua is a total departure from the usual 10 mm drivers used. With 99.99% high purity Kondo cable used internally, the Perpetua is expected to sound engaging, lifelike, and airy.
Vision Ears is back again with two new high-end IEMs, namely the PHöNIX and EXT. Both of them came from the VE Premium Line, where you will find all their special monitors. PHöNIX is introduced as the replacement for the legendary ERLKöNIG that was discontinued. In fact, the PHöNIX is built based on ERLKöNIG's setting 2 as a baseline. However, PHöNIX only comes in 1 tuning option, with 13 balanced armature drivers on each side. Four BA drivers are dedicated to drive the bass, four for mids and four for treble respectively with an additional super-tweeter driver to extend the highs even more.
The EXT comes closely after the PHöNIX, though with a totally different hybrid drivers configuration. A single 9.2 mm dynamic driver for bass, an all-new 6mm dynamic driver for mids, and four electrostatic drivers for treble are used. The EXT is almost like a co-flagship with the PHöNIX, as it is intended to be the successor to the already impressive Elysium. With the all-new dynamic driver for the mids, the EXT features exclusively the second-generation High Precision Acoustive Leveling Chamber (HALC) and Side Tuning Chamber (STC) technologies to ensure a higher level of midrange realism.
This time around, I was surprised to see not one, but two brands from India, Altiat and Kaldas Research. Apparently, they were founded by the same owner, Aumkar Chandan, in Mumbai.
