Elac Loudspeakers By Andrew Jones And Audio Alchemy

  Utra-hotshot loudspeaker designer Andrew Jones was here at CAS 2015 showcasing his Elac's B5 ($229 per pair) small two-way stand-mounted loudspeaker. These are the smallest offerings from the new Andrew Jones model lineup offered by Elac this winter. Just like at T.H.E. Show Newport 2015, i'm still amazed by the sound these lil' jewels produce at this price. The electronics were the Audio Alchemy DDP-1 DAC/Preamp, the PS-5 outboard power supply and the DPA-1 125 wpc stereo power amplifier. Power conditioning was Shunyata, with music files via a custom made media server.

Look guys, it is guys out there reading this right, no fricken way anything, anything, comes close to these at this price level. Holy crap this system sounded great. Just... so... wonderful. Only $229 for a set of these speakers? Really? Ok, you must be pulling my leg (or some other man-bit). $229? Really? This small? Sounds this great for a mere $229? I'm.... (speechless)

By the way, i'd give the Elac B5 speakers an award here at CAS 2015, yet they already earned one a few months back within Enjoy the Music.com's T.H.E. Show Newport 2015 report.
