Edge Audio has released all new line of components including Signature 1.1 SE preamplifier, GCD Player, ACF2M power conditioner, and NL12.1SE amplifier ($14,788, $6038, $3578, $30,464 respectively). Focusing on the NL12.1 SE (special edition),
it has improved transformers, custom made capacitors, special output board that are like the reference amplifiers and both balanced
(XLR) and single ended (RCA) inputs.
Von Gaylord Audio has these really cool Uni monoblock tube amplifiers ($59,000) that use non-dialectic oil-base fluid for tube cooling.
Why is that needed, you ask? Because, my friends, the output tubes are 3CX300A-1 triode
transmitter tube that operate at very high temperature. A pair of these tubes is run in triode and produces 200 watts per channel with plenty of
Amperage to spare! Other special features include their own custom designed output transformers that are hand wired with silver. They were also showing a new three-way
loudspeaker called the VG1 upper frequency monitor with Plus lower frequency enclosure ($13,800 for all) that uses a alloy steel and composite material enclosure for the ultimate of structural rigidity. Outer finish is of user's choice.
NFS Audio, which stands for Not For Sale Audio, is a room at
T.H.E. Show where a couple of dudes simply setup their own cool audio system and have fun enjoying music
during the day and into the late night hours with partying galore! This year the room is darkened, while a cool
light throws small green dots all around. If you look close enough, you can see the Ferguson Hill hornspeakers that use a clear
large transparent plastic, with the center driver being a Lowther. Look carefully and you'll see
it on the left side of the photo above.
Note: My apologies for the little coverage
today, as i had many business meetings. Tomorrow is a new day and hope to
really do quite a bit of coverage.
