New York Noise 2002 Audio Design Exhibition Show Report
The nyNOISE 2002 Audio Design Exhibition is unlike any other. There is no marketing experts. No one is saying they have discovered or invented all new technology that will revolutionize the world. Instead what we have is a show filed with comradely with a large dose of fun! It is more a community get together with everyone basking in the glory of sheer inventiveness and ingenuity... and dumpster divers!
Competition Most Byzantine
Dave Slegal had his fully custom wound components (transformers, chokes, etc) amplifier. In fact after all this work on his autoformer amplifier, he admitted it probably does not sound good. More like a push-pull amplifier, which is not to his liking. Tube (blue) for power supply...
Herbert Jeschke brought two amplifiers to the show. A 300B based amplifier that is an OTL design. Also the large VOIT type loudspeakers (large triangular loudspeakers as seen below) that are specially done to present an 800-ohm load to an amplifier.
