The Audio Physic room made a world first by showing their Virgo V (€6000) floorstanding loudspeaker that has a black aluminum cone tweeter and 5.25-inch aluminum cone midrange with phase plug. The midrange has an inner basket is made from high dampening plastic while the outer construction die-cast aluminum for solidness and heat sinking. A pair of side-mounted push-push aluminum cone woofer produce the bass.

Oh yeah... live music.

Jungson from Mainland China make a complete line of audio gear. Seen here is their Deity No. 1 (€20,000) and don't have much more information as my Chinese was about as good as their English. best bet is to see there website for more data.

Ole Christensen of Amphion loudspeakers helped introduce the company's new Prio floorstanding loudspeaker (€2300). This unique design uses the Amphion waveguide to lower the crossover frequency to 1,600Hz, which is half of what you usually find in normal units. This D'Appolito design has a centrally-located tweeter flanked top and bottom by the midrange/woofer. As Ole says, "D'Appollito done right."

Holfi's Int 8S (€1400) integrated stereo amplifier has a Cherry wood faceplate and produces 85 wpc in singe-ended Class A. Transistors, yet zero global feedback. You can expand the unit for six channel amplification (external) as the built-in pre has an input for six-channel audio.

Why yes, it is a new Wurlitzer that plays 45rpm vinyl.

Never seen anywhere is KEF's new Muon (€100,000) with it's new generation of Uni-Q tweeter/midrange driver. A 10-inch paper cone midbass and four 12-inch woofers are on the front panel while a pair of adjustable volume woofers are on the rear. The cabinet is made from 6mm aluminum sandwich that is formed in the same manner as is found within the aerospace industry. These babies weight in at 115 kg each so if you buy them have a few friends handy!

Classic No. 16 (€1200) integrated amplifier produces 230 watts in triode, 40 watts in ultralinear with a frequency response from 8Hz to 82kHz. This tidy package has a built-in bias meter, multiple input capability, and looked very well made.

Volent has a complete line of loudspeakers that utilize their 1-inch ribbon tweeter (€400) that produce sound from 12kHz to 100kHz.

While i'd call this booth "everything ribbon and planar," Quad Musikwiedergabe had Heil, old Quad, new Quad, and Manger loudspeakers.

Also in the booth were Ergo headphones.
