à la carte productions
A la carte productions based out of Deland, Florida was being manned by David Sckolnik within their value room. This retail store had two great rooms at Florida Audio Expo 2019. The top-line Dynamic Sounds Associates (DSA) room came fully prepared with Pre I linestage ($16,500) and large DSA Amp I monoblocks ($25,000 per pair) plus much more! Their large monoblock amplifier produces 125 Watts of solid-state Class A power employing an all-JFET / MOSFET design using DC coupled circuit topology following a source follower input with blocking capacitors to provide a constant input impedance and prevents input DC offsets from damaging speakers. Inputs include both XLR balanced and unbalanced RCA.
Loudspeakers were Vienna Acoustics Liszt in rosewood finish ($18,798), plus Spendor Audio D9 in rosewood ($12,395). Other bits within the main system includes Ortofon MC A95 ($6,499) Windfield TI ($4,390) Cadenza Mono ($1,280), with turntable and tonearms by VPI Industries with their Avenger Magnetic Drive and three JMW-12 Fatboy 3D printed arms ($31,200). Phono preamplification is DSA's Phono II ($13,500) that easily handles both moving magnet (MM) and moving coil (MC) cartridges. Power conditioner and room treatments / tuning was by Tweek Geek with their Bybee Stealth Dark Matter Power Purifier ($5949), plus a very special world premiere of their ADD-Powr Sourcer reference parallel line conditioner ($4,999). Stein Harmonizer room treatments ($2,995+) were also used with good results.
Power cords, interconnects and loudspeaker cables were by Luminous Audio Technology and included their Mega Power Lynx ($699/1.5m), Synchestra Silver Reference ($699/1m pair), Synchestra Signature ($40/ft + $60 pr. term feet). This system had a classic sound that is so endearing says my listening notes. For me, that mans a proper sounding home audio system that has beauty in sound and natural harmonics.
à la carte productions' value room featured Ortofon 2M Blue MM cartridge ($236), VPI Industries Player turntable ($1,500 with Ortofon 2M Red), Creek Audio Evolution 50A ($1,195) v, Spendor Audio A7 in natural oak ($4995), with all cabling by Luminous Audio Technology (Lynx Ultra Power Cords are $349 and Monarch II Signature Interconnects are $199).
Their Prestige II Speaker Cable ($260) connected to Tweek Geek Dark Matter Tech Dark Energy Harmonizer (passive edition, $499). For digital duties, OPPO BDP-83SE (available on the secondary market for under $500), with speakers being Vienna Acoustics Beethoven Baby Grand SE in piano black ($6598). Billy Bags 5604 equipment rack held all gear in its proper place (originally $914, now only $250!).
