Awards And Goodies
There were donations and grab bags with various parts for sale with proceeds going to the Layla House in Ethiopia. This room featured an amazing array of parts supplied by none other than Tube Goddess and Groovy Chick EveAnna Manley of Manley Labs. Her dumpster diving parts raised $363 for the cause.
The VSAC 2003 show had a wonderful, friendly awards ceremony. Enjoy the
Music.com's Friday coverage gave a small sampling of the goodies.
"You're Momma's A Hoe" category was Tony Hoe and he won a pair of ST45 tubes
(photo above). "The Dumpster Driving" award went to Hopper Chu and gets a $500 account at the Parts
Connection. "So You Think You Want A Flea Amp" went to James Kelsey who won a pair of
driver tubes.
"If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against
Me" award went Matt
Kamna (photo above). "Silk Purse From A Souse Ear" went to Dennis Alkire who earned a pair of Amperex Dutch Bugle Boy 12AX7 tubes.
"Absentia Award" went to Jim M. for his music box. In the "Mine's Bigger Than
Yours" category is Paul Austin who won a lovely bag of parts.
" I Never Really Grew Up" award for his Batman lunchbox tuned amplifier went to John.
The Oregon Audiophile Society, due to their great participation, won a case of really cheap beer.
"Raise The Red Lantern" category was won by Gary Crockett who earned a pair of interconnects.
"Most Innovative Use Of Surplus Chassis" went to Dave McDonald and won a pair of Magnequest output transformers.
"I Brought The Most Toys So I Win" award went to Gary as he indeed has the most toys.
Kevin Haskins humbly accepted and announced the great fundraiser to help the cause for the Layla House in Ethiopia.
A wonderful cause and hope that more audiophile shows follow his great idea to
assist those who are less fortunate than ourselves.
Doc. Bottlehead announced this year's show being the most successful and
most attended. Ron Welborne also did a great job at making the show a wonderful time for everyone.
