Loudspeaker Lust!
Zingali use a combination of
compression driver/horn-loading and bass reflex woofer(s) to give their speaker line very
high sensitivity. Meanwhile, Toulipič wood is used for the horn and other parts of
the speaker. Seen in the photo is the Butterfly .3 (left) and Butterfly .2 (right).
During the Milan show i had the pleasure of hearing their speakers and i must say
they are amazingly good. Wish they were available in the USA.

Well, i've said it before and i'll
say it again. Gallo has balls. Seen here is not a photo, but a pure cyber 3D
creation by cool dude Jon Gale of the Gallo Nucleus speaker. Jon has a killer
website himself featuring room set-up, DIY projects, music reviews, other cool 3Dcreations
and much more!

A speaker i grew up with, the
Tannoy 12" dual-concentric Gold Monitor, has been through various changes since the
circa 1969 models i still hear at my parents' home. Seen here is their new Churchill
15" dual-concentric driver in a selected veneer over one inch MDF core. The
crossover uses Solen Hepta-Litz inductors with Solen capacitors and Dale resistors.
Custom Kimber shielded bi-wire is used also as are precision WBT speaker binding posts.

Pearl Audio Technology has this
really cute little speaker called the Celesta. With a 19mm soft-dome and
100mmmid/woofer, 12db/octave crossover at 5,000Hz, and front ported design, the
manufacturer claims a frequency response of 60Hz - 25kHz. High quality 5% inductors,
3.5% capacitors, and 5% resistors are used in the crossover by the way.

So, are ya feeling
horny? Well, after looking at the larger photo i surely am! These speakers
have been all the rage in magazines from many reviewers worldwide. In fact one of my
close friends who's not a reviewer loves his pair. Now if i was only as rich as i am
stupid... Anyway, these speakers are extremely sensitive and therefor are great with
amplifier from three watts on up. My friend sez his eight watt 300B based unit gets
really loud. Part of the "trick" here is that Avantgarde uses a
self-powered sub/woofer module and high quality crossover network accordingly. Gotta
warn ya though, these speakers can sound utterly awesome or horrible depending on the care
in setup and upstream equipment. When all things are just right they will deliver
the goods unlike most speakers i have ever heard. Hmm... what is my credit card
limit again?

Rarely seen. Most folks don't
even know about it. Sadly, never reviewed. What am i referring to? Why,
the B&W Emphasis speaker! First time i saw this was at the B&W USA
distribution facility. MAN-O-MAN, all i could say was gimme-gimme-gimme!!! It
looks so saxual and it is kinda horny looking too. It uses B&W's cool
Kevlar bass/midrange driver and of course their metal domed tweeter. All this came about
while they were flirting with their snail looking speaker many folks have seen (the
Nautilus). Hmmm... now who does a dude haveta bribe to get a pair of these babies
for review?
