Electrades Audio Room
The Electrades Audio room consisted of many different products including
the Monarchy 22B/LE DAC ($2,750), SE-100 "Class A" monoblocks ($4,720) and D.I.P
($480). Sudgen's SDT-1 CD Player ($2,500) and Signature 41 preamplifier ($1,500)
were here as was the Near 15M loudspeakers ($1,200). Target stands were used as
well.
Voodoo Board
Getting my vote for the most honestly named product is the Voodoo Board
($580). Weighing in at a hefty 18 kilos due to using approximately 4.5 million
steel bearing inside, this is one sturdy unit! Obviously the Voodoo Board is a
vibration reduction/controlling device and is claimed to "reducing information
dropouts caused by offending vibration interference to laser-optic players" and
"radically reducing mechanical stress caused by the over exertion of loudspeaker
voice-coils, especially in regard to the low frequency negative feedback loops commonly
experienced with turntables." In fact in their literature is a photo of the
unit with a DJ turntable (Technics 1200) and the Voodoo representative said that many DJs
here are now using the Voodoo board! Heck, even their literature is very honest when
it says on the very front "The difference is Voodoo..."!
