Squeezing many products into a relatively small space is Visom Digital with units from PMC loudspeakers, Manley Labs (Shrimp pre-amplifier and Wave DAC/pre-amplifier), and Genex (six-channel GX8500 DSD tape machine). Everywhere i looked was more goodies to take in! Almost reminded me of the stores in Asia where they stack equipment high and deep.
Audiophile sensory overload! :-)
Klipsch loudspeakers had their RF-15, RF-25 and RF-35 respectively. The RF-15 ($1,207 USD) has a 1-inch tweeter and two 5.25-nich midrange/woofers. Frequency response is from 45Hz to 20kHz with a 96dB/W/m sensitivity.
As it all really comes down to the music. CIM Music Store was selling many titles to show attendees.
As this is an audio and video show, JVC were showcasing their high-resolution digital video cameras
(above) and flat panel
televisions (below).
Gabriella was proudly standing next to the Bowers & Wilkins
(B&W) Signature 800 floorstanding loudspeaker at the Sommaior booth.
Sommaior is a large Brazilian distributor for other brands as well such as Meridian, Sim2, Jeff Roland, Classé, Rotel,
Wadia, Audioquest, Transfiguration, Audio Power, Avalon, M+K, Pr-Ject, NAD and many others. They have a display facility
in Brazil with an outstanding ten acoustically treated rooms! All rooms were specially made for optimum sound reproduction. If they can do this in Brazil, why is it not done in other countries?
Fernando Andrette, director of Audio & Video magazine, with Vivian of American Express.
Tried getting into the Pacific Music room to buy some discs, yet they were packed tight with customers. Reminder to self, revisit the Pacific Music room tomorrow.
The Caliber Music room was also filled with patrons. Fortunately there was room for one more (as flashbacks of a Twilight Zone episode fill my head). Room for one more...
Valve Tech from Brazil hand makes tube units such as their VA-60E monoblock ($8,000 REAL per pair) that has two KT-88 in push-pull
configuration to produce 60 watts. The VA-4L ($4,000 REAL) pre-amplifier has four inputs and two stereo pairs of output for bi-amplification. The head designer, Carlos Alberto
Lopes born in
São Paulo nearly 60 years ago, has been working with tube
amplification for over 45 years. Now that is a longstanding love
affair!
i have no idea why i like Philco in Brazil, then i recall their wonderful espresso... Make mine a double! Faema
machine with unknown brand grinder.
Oh yeah before i forget, Philco offers many video screens such as their RealFlat 32-inch 16:9 multiPIP monitor.
Adding beautiful health to your room is Marcela... Oh, and she
is seen here with Sharp's Plasma Cluster room ionizer/cleaner. For those looking to
ensure the air quality to their listening room, this unit has three fan speed settings plus automatic and a timer.
