Friday Greeting show attendees for the Rocky Mountain Audio fest was a fellow discussion board friend's 1984 Ferrari BBi packed with a 12-cylinder engine. Of course the owner and I enjoyed a lovely discussion. Forza Ferrari!
These two lovelies are Koetsu Burma (white) and Jade (green) cartridges. The main difference is the cantilever where the Burma has the Boron while the Jade uses diamond. The output is 0.3mV with a frequency response from 10Hz to an amazing 50kHz!
Electra-Print Audio's Electra-Kit LD300 monoblock ($1,920) and LD-84 stereo unit ($985) feature a single tube design, thereby eliminating the driver tubes. The LD300 employs a 300B for output while the LD-84 is a push-pull unit. They produce 6 watts and 13 watts respectively with patent-pending linear driver modules. These are derivatives of the company's Passive Voltage Amplifier ($280 for copper outputs or $650 with silver outputs, not pictured).
F.J's new Mini two-way vented loudspeaker ($1,450) feature a Baltic birch enclosure that holds a 0.75-inch silk tweeter and 4-inch treated paper cone woofer. They are claimed to be a small package (11 high x 11 deep by 6 wide) with a large sound. Frequency response is from 60Hz to 20kHz.
Omega TS33R loudspeaker ($900) can be setup for either 4 or 16 ohm configuration. They have a pair of Fostex 4-inch paper cone drivers. The blue artic laminate enclosure is ported to further extend the lower frequencies and to achieve 95dB sensitivity.
From the same genius as the Lehmann Audio Black Cube phono stage comes their new headphone amplifier ($779). A zero global feedback "Class A" solid-state output can power a pair of headphones and offers volume adjustment. Note the ultra-cool Sony D-15 portable CD player.
Naturally the Doc was in the house... Doc Bottlehead that is with his Seduction phono amplifier kit ($279) and transformer-based step-up transformers. Below those is Doc Bottlehead's new SEX amplifier kit ($349). (Said in good humor) Hmmm... Seduction and SEX, i have a feeling the Doc needs to get out a bit more... or the soldering fumes have taken control. Getting back to reality, the equipment stand is welded metal with 1.5-inch solid Maple shelving. The top shelf actually floats on opposing Neodymium magnets.
