Vader
The album Litany marks Vader's fourth full-length studio release and their first album on a more or less "major" American label (Metal Blade). Have they compromised their sound? Not one bit! This album is classic Vader from start to finish. There are no surprises here, except the use of a sound clip in the beginning of "Cold Demons" (Vader hasn't used sound clips before, to my knowledge). Vader doesn't really vary their sound much, but their flavor of fast, intense death metal should please any fan of extreme music. When I first heard this release, I thought it was their previous album, Black to the Blind. Both albums sound similar, however I thought the Black to the Blind album placed a stronger emphasis on speed. Subtle variations aside, this release is sure to satisfy your need for unrelenting death. Not only is it a great little album (clocks in at 30 mins), it is an enhanced CD!! Included on this release is a video (AVI format) of the song "Cold Demons". The video isn't all that great. It's mostly WW2 footage of tanks blowing stuff up, but it's better than no video. The CD also has a bio and picture of the band, a discography, and other miscellaneous info. So what if it's riddled with typos, the enhancements on this CD are very cool. I highly recommend this title to any metalhead!
