Darryl Holter Although this is Darryl Holter's first CD, he is no novice musician. This collection of thirteen original songs displays a dark view of the American landscape that can only come from an experienced songwriter and musician. These unvarnished and visceral performances are not the stuff top-40 hits are made of - some have the taste and consistency of buffalo-flop pies – good though... Enjoyment: Sound:
David Parmley & Continental Divide If rip-snorting, fire-breathing, balls-to-the-wall bluegrass is your thing; David Parmley is your man. His take-no-prisoners performance style combines the best of BiIl Monroe's late-40's style with a touch of Ralph Stanley's rustic edge. This is your father's traditional bluegrass, sans jazz riffs or newgrass inflections. Parmley's vocals have more emotional impact than a boatload of modern country crooners. Yep, this is the real stuff.

Ernie Thacker Ernie Thacker almost never made this album. A serious car crash nearly killed him almost two years ago. Although he started recording The Hangman in 2006, the final touches had to wait until he recovered from his injuries. Thacker has a perfect bluegrass voice – rich, warm, and strong, yet with a touch of grit. His band, Route 23, is equally adept. Together they've made a modern bluegrass masterpiece.
